    Must See 'Em Live

by JazzyMel on 9/10/13Ritz Theatre - Jacksonville

Pieces of Dream's CDs are great, but they do not match the excitement of a live performance. Keyboardist/writer/producer James Lloyd is truly a musicial genius and quite a showman. Check out the YouTube videos of him playing keyboards backwards! Drummer Curtis Harmon, the other original founding member, is also a very impressive musician and writer. I love the song he wrote for his wife and the song he wrote on the new CD! The other members of the band Saxophonist Tony Watson, Jr., Guitarist Rohn Lawrence, and Bassist David Dyson are also exceptional musicians. Don't miss this group if they come to your area!

@ The Ritz, Jax Fl - Blew the roof off!!

    by Bonita7 on 9/9/13The Ritz - Jacksonville

I have spent over 15years in the business (Radio/Television) and this band did not disappoint. Each talented musician showcased their skills. The saxophone solo was my favorite, b/c Tony played to me in the audience...HaHa he made my night!! The fusion of songs in the medley was awesome...These men can really play...I would love for them to record one of these intimate concerts and release it on CD...They never lost what they had, they just got better. This is what artist of today LACK, the ability to play, sing and entertain. Please note these men are humble and thankyou for our support. Love them and welcome them back next year. You will not be disappointed.

Pieces of a Dream was exactly that!!!

by Jukey on 11/20/12Tralf - Buffalo

I didn't know what to expect & they had people up in their seats & on the floor. The solos were manificent the bass player from D.C. was awesome, the saxophonist was great, and the original band members let us know that they have been together as long as they have. The show was not what I thought it was more, I'd recommend them to any concert goer.

Pieces of a Dream WAS a dream!

    by Maura5 on 12/23/11Birchmere - Alexandria

These talented musician served up some amazing riffs! The bass player is from the DC area & I wouldn't be surprised to see him play with other groups based on his talent & versatility. ALL the band members had a chance to strut their stuff & wow the audience. The concert was better than I expected...& I expected great things. Go see them if you have the chance.

I attended and experienced Pieces of a Dream at the Birchmere. It was very uplifting, totally professional, and enlightening. These guys have skills that are absolutely amazing. I cannot say who was the best player of the evening. I totally recommend that everyone make it a point to experience what they have to deliver because they certainly know how to bring it!! A truly unforgettable experience.

Pieces came together to make a dream come true

by Anonymous on 12/19/11Birchmere - Alexandria

Pieced of a Dream was awsome. I had not been to a live show in a long while and to see Pieces of Dream made me realize how much I missed seeing real talent. It was wonderful to see a band playing instruments and singing live without studio help and they were great.

by Anonymous on 12/19/11Birchmere - Alexandria

Pieces of a Dream is unforgettable, but this show was especially memorable. Each of the musicians brought amazing energy to the show from the opening chord to the final encore. I will see them again as soon as they are back in the area.

    Pieces of A Dream

    by TeeCee55 on 7/20/11Chene Park - Detroit

For those who enjoy great jazz, seeing Pieces is a must. And, when you do, you walk away totally enamored! James Lloyd is just the rarest of musicians and entertainers. At this concert, Walter Beasley had James come out and do a number with his group. If I understood it correctly, Walter Beasley’s brother played not only with him but played with Pieces. One thing for sure, that young man almost stole the show. He did solos with both groups and earned the adulation of the crowd early. I have seen Pieces every time they have been here and each time is GREAT! At one of the concerts at Chene Park years ago, James Lloyd even took his shoe off and played they keyboard with his toes! What a site and treat. If you have not seen them, don't miss them whenever they are in town.

    Phenomenal!!

    by 2toohappy on 7/15/11Chene Park - Detroit

The band was energetic. Their music was as great as it has always been. Each member put their own stamp on their solos from playing the guitar behind the head, to throwing in the towel when the bassist went to town. It was one of the best jazz concerts I have ever experienced. The crowd couldn't clap enough and sometimes had to hold it because the transitions in the music were never ending and we didn't want to miss one note! Maybe it's because they have written their own songs that their energy and exuberance comes across so well in their performance. It is a must see show and the band puts on a mesmerizing memorable event.

I had not seen "Pieces" in a long time and they are still an outstanding band. They continue to give a great live performance, which is the true test of any performer!

    Pieces of a Dream

by EastsideSwan on 7/15/11Chene Park - Detroit

The summer gets better and better at Chene Park. Pieces of a Dream and Walter Beasley was DYNAMIC. We did not leave our seats until the last sound of the last song left the stage. The Bass player had me on the edge of my seat and a smile on my face. LOVED IT.
