The show was absolutely mesmerizing for hours. All the players were top shelf and the compositions were exquisite.

    most tender movie ever seen

by labelle777 on 5/5/14Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

never get tired of this most sensual film...I like very much philip glass attempting to take this adventure...my only concern and clearly this is my sole opinion is that as a french speaking person the female voice was not convincing enough for me ,the tonality in her expression did not touch me....but overall i did enjoy very much.

    Magnificent performance

The film was beautifully restored, with English subtitles. But the live voices sang, in very beautifulFrench, the words that you could see the characters speaking on the screen, and in voices that were hypnotically beautiful. The result was as powerful aesthetically as the Qatsi Trilogy but intimate and full of feeling. The instrumental music was also very beautiful.

    perfect combination

this was the perfect score to this surreal movie. I love the movie - I've seen it many times, and this rendition with a live orchestra and Philip Glass' ensemble, was just the perfect combination - the singers' voices were beautiful, the music perfectly complimented the movie. Thank you for a great show! i'm still completely enchanted.

I am am still thrilling! Philip Glass, an eternal favorite, created another ultra-amazing experience! However, I would like to know why I did not receive the seat I reserved??? Luckily there was a open seat close to the one I ordered...........

This was originally billed as Philip Glass & Van Dyke Parks, but it actually only featured two short compositions by Glass as well as a host of other extremely mediocre performances by younger boring musicians. Not at all what I paid for/had to leave due to the excess of lame performances following Glass. Philip Glass was great though...
