by Woofa on 5/20/10Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

Peter Wolf was tremendous along with his very talented band. The Woofa Goofa played a wonderful set of new tracks from Midnight Souveniers, while mixing in some old Geils Band classics like Give it to Me, Musta Got Lost and Cry One More Time!! Wolfs' musical talents are wide-ranging, from the Blues to Country, to good old fashioned rock and roll. In addition to his marvelous musical talent, Peter Wolf is the ULTIMATE SHOWMAN, energizing the crowd throughout the show, engaging the crowd after each song, and even strolling out into the audience for a song. The show was simply one of the finest live performances I have ever seen!!!!!!

    THIS SHOW WAS AWESOME!

by jcshg on 5/19/10Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

Great show, never had seats in St. Andrews hall before but it worked...little cramped moving around but it fit the vibe of the show since most of it was fairly laid back....it did build as the night went on and Peter started playing more J. Geils material. His band was tight as anyone I've ever seen and really added to the show. It definitely felt like a "moment" was going on that night. I wish I could see this show again. I hope he doese more solo shows and comes back to Detroit.

    Peter Wolf Was Lights Out!

by RockinBobbyD on 5/18/10Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

Saw Wolf last night and as expected, he delivered in fine fashion. Starting off the show with a couple cuts from his brand new CD Midnight Souveniers. He then pulled out a remake of Homework the original Geils classic from so long ago and it was clear that the Detroit "Lovefest" was in full swing. Peter calmly and passionately spoke to the crowd between each song like he was giving a personal concert for everyone in the hall. Peter then tore through his new version of Thick as Thieves from Midnight Souvenires and then the Detroit Party really got started with a couple classics from The J. Geils Band. Peter sang Musta Got Lost, Give it To Me, Love Stinks, and Nightime as if his new band was all that he ever had. His passion and dedication to his craft shows not only in his live performance but also in his dedication to making sure his fan get the most that they can from seeing him live. A MUST SEE for ANY Geils fan

2 strong hours of top notch music

by Warlock21 on 5/18/10Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

Peter Wolf rocked for 2 string hours. Playing both solo and J. Geils music. In historic St Andrews Hall in downtown Detroit. The small venue was perfect for a r ockin show. Patrons pounded their feet on the balcony floor, that sent a vibration throughout the old building. They played multiple encore songs that left both the audience and band member satisfied.

    Wuffa Guffa!

by ofjfohgwo on 5/18/10Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

Was a little bummed that he had asked for chairs, because that made it difficult to dance, but it actually turned out okay. The wuffa started out pretty mellow, I was surprised, but told the crowd we would get to stompin' soon. All around it was a good concert. Not as good as J. Geils, but can't expect that from a 60+ year old man, I suppose. Thanks, Wolf, you are still loved here in the D

Peter Wolf: rock, soul, & funk!

by ccconcert on 5/18/10Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

A 21/2 hour trip was well worth it: Peter Wolf satiated my soul! He did a great blend of his solo work, beginning with "Growing Pain" right on thru a good representation of JGeils Band tunes. The Detroit crowd was restless for "Detroit Breakdown", but were on the whole, appreciative of his presence on the stage of St. Andrew's Hall. The man is 64 yrs old; he tells great stories, writes wonderful lyrics, & keeps movin' & groovin'. Thanks, Wolf!

    Peter Wolf was superb!

by Pink222 on 5/18/10Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

Great mix of his solo material but not leaving Geils fans behind. His bluesy, country, rock style is appealing to all audiences. He's still the hardest working frontman in the biz. VERY personable to the Detroit fans, especially at the end when he greeted the crowd after the show.

Peter Wolf is (still) like lightning in a bottle

by ShamrockCat on 5/17/10Park West - Chicago

Peter Wolf was always the consummate showman as the frontman for the J. Geils Band. That hasn't changed one bit! It was an awesome show -- great musicians backing Peter up and a great mix of Peter's solo works and some J. Geils classics. My expectations were really high and I was afraid I might be disappointed, but I need not have worried. Peter Wolf and his band delivered a memorable performance well worth my time and money. If they make a stop near you, you would be a fool to miss it!

    Don't pass up a chance!

    by FrankieLimoncello3 on 5/16/10Park West - Chicago

...to see Peter Wolf live. This man rocks out. Not for a second do you think that he doesn't care. He doesn't know how to 'phone it in', not in his vocabulary. Much more than an 'aging rock star' trying to keep or regain his 15 minutes of fame, this guy is a highly accomplished and versatile performer. And for being 64 (in 2010), this guy jumps around a lot more than your dad does! He doesn't tour much, and mostly sticks east of the Mississippi, so if you get half a chance to see him, jump on it. As for Park West, it's not as bad as some on here indicate. Sure, drinks are going to be 6 bucks each for a weak margarita or an MGD, but be nice to your bartender, make sure you tip well on the first round, and you should be fine. Seating was packed in tight in the floor area, with chairs placed front to back touching each other (I guess the audience was supposed to have 2 dimensional legs??) but get rid of that extra seat and everyone's fine. Sound system was adequate, not muddy, one brief piece of feedback, a little lacking on the bass. Not weak, just not where I would have had it. Parking is a challenge, I never saw a public garage, but that doesn't mean there isn't one somewhere. Parked on Clark with 2hr paper slip at 7, after 9 it's not enforced, so good timing there. 3 stars for parking, 4 for Park West itself, 6 stars (out of 5) for Mr Wolf. I don't know what more he could have done but sat at our table.

Excellent band, great songs from the later part of his solo career, a few J. Geils Band songs. What more could you want?

    Peter Wolf has such soul

    by Yooper76 on 5/16/10Park West - Chicago

What a talent Peter Wolf is. He has such feelings to his stories and songs as they both intertwine throughout the evening. The Park West is really a jewel in Chicago's music venues as well.
