Peter Pan - Loads of Fun!

by DriscollWanzer on 9/23/11Thalia Mara Hall - Jackson

I really enjoyed my experience at the theater on Wednesday. I was in attendance for this play for a theater appreciation class at Hinds CC in Raymond. This was also my first "real" play that I've seen, so it was definitely a new experience all around for me. The cast and the ensemble were excellent. Hook stole the show to me; Mr. Hewitt was amazing as both Mr. Darling and Captain Hook.Taking and studying acting this semester at school has really opened my eyes on how difficult it can be to craft a character and interpretation of a character, never mind having a dual role such as Mr. Hewitt and Kim Crosby! It amazed me that Cathy Rigby was able to pull off the stunts that she was able to at her age - I hope that I'm able to do nearly half the amazing things she accomplished in the show at that age. I was especially impressed with the musical numbers "Ugh-A-Wug", as well as "Pirate's Tango". Overall I would most certainly recommend the experience of theater to anyone within listening range, and - especially so - this show.

Peter Pan with Cathy Rigby was truly a magnificent show. My 5 year old loved it so much that she cried when it was over because she didn't want to leave. I would definitely recommend this show to children of all ages from 3 to 103.

would recommend to ALL age groups

I loved this show. It was amazing. Although it was late, my 5 year old niece stayed entertained though out the entire show and clapped along with the songs. It was also child appropriate with only one or two words that my sister would disapprove of. The acting along with the singing was wonderful and set design was beautiful! Our over all experience was worth going to see Peter Pan again and again!!!!!

    Peter Pan was fantastic!

My 5 yr old grandson was beside himself with excitement. Although his normal bedtime is 7:30 PM on a school night he forced himself to stay awake through intermission so he wouldn't miss a thing.. He loved the play. It was well worth the money I paid for such great seats.

    Absolutely wonderful production!

by 4my4babies on 9/22/11Thalia Mara Hall - Jackson

Cathy Rigby was amazing....we were about half way back in the auditorium and no one would EVER know she was 60 years old and a grandmother! All of the cast were perfectly suited to there parts. Music and sound was great. We took all ages...from 77 to 5 and everyone loved.it. My 9 year old son is a bit of a "scaredy cat" when it comes to the dark and loud noises so he was put off when we got to the door and he spied a sign that said there would be loud gunfire noises and stobe lights. Being the "mean mother" that I am, his tears didn't get to me and I insisted he say seated. And boy was he glad he did. I think he loved it more than anyone and later said "Those lights were no different than any other lights and my cap gun sounds louder than those shots did. Can we buy the movie please?" It cracked me up. Go, you want regret it. I've seen dozens of live musical theatre productions (both on Broadway and off) and Cathy Rigby's Peter Pan ranks up with the best of them.
