Peter Frampton on Tour

With the Peter Frampton Finale: The Farewell Tour, an iconic figure in rock takes the stage for one last round in 2019. Commencing June 18 in Tulsa and ending October 12 in San Francisco, the tour follows the singer and guitarist's announcement of his retirement due to his battle with inclusion body myositis (IBM), a progressive muscle disorder.

It makes for a poignant occasion for any fan whose life has been touched by Frampton's songs in the five decades since the singer and guitarist first earned renown as the teenage frontman for Humble Pie and became one of the biggest sensations of the 1970s.

The evening will be a celebration first and foremost. The music legend always has been warm and engaging in signature songs like "Baby, I Love Your Way" and "Do You Feel Like We Do," and he wouldn't have it any other way. For the new tour, Frampton performs alongside his longtime bandmates Rob Arthur (keys, guitar, vocals), Steve Mackey (bass), Adam Lester (guitar), and Dan Wojciechowski (drums).

Peter Frampton Background

From co-founding one of rock's first supergroups while still a teenager to releasing the most famous live album of all time, Peter Frampton has had many milestones in a career that began in the London borough of Bromley in the early ‘60s. Inspired by heroes like Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran, the young guitarist began his musical pursuits as an adolescent alongside David Bowie, an older classmate who became his lifelong friend.

By the time he was 16, Frampton was having his first hits with The Herd. When only 18, he co-founded Humble Pie with Steve Marriott of Small Faces and Spooky Tooth's Greg Ridley. The group's mix of hard rock and progressive styles made them a pioneer of heavy metal.

After going solo in 1971, Frampton toured tirelessly in the U.S. His efforts paid off in 1976, when Frampton Comes Alive! became a phenomenon. Topping the Billboard charts for 10 weeks, it sold eight million copies and spawned three smashes in "Baby, I Love Your Way," "Show Me the Way," and "Do You Feel Like We Do."

Later career highlights included playing guitar on David Bowie's Glass Spider tour, winning a Grammy in 2007 for Best Pop Instrumental Album, and touring with a who's who of other six-string heroes as Frampton's Guitar Circus in 2013. Released in 2016, Acoustic Classics featured new performances of many of his best-known songs, including a few favorites from Frampton Comes Alive!

    Rock Legend still Awsome!

by Leukocyte on 7/19/09Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

Peter does not disappoint. Classic songs still rock, newer stuff is fresh, energy high. Loved the instrumentals, especially the cover of Black Hole Sun. Still the master of the Voice Box without over doing it. Master Rock Star.

Frampton, Scotty and Noah were awesome

by Champaigncounty on 7/19/09Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

Of course Peter Frampton was awesome, but Scotty Bratcher and Noah were awesome as well. The other groups were good also, wasnt real crazy about "The Elms", they were good, but not what this particualr crowd wanted to hear. Their last song "Keep on Rockin in the Free World" (Neil Young, yes) got the crowds reponse, because that is what they wanted to hear. Tried several of the wing vendors, they were all pretty good, but thought that the Rusty Bucket had the best wings. The beer prices were reasonable as well. Turned ot to be a pretty good evening, after the light showers passed .

    Great Show

by GuitarPlayer on 7/19/09Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

Peter still has it. He's and excellent guitarist, musician and entertainer. I had a great time, with the exception of the The Elms, the opening act. Scotty Bratcher was awesome! Peter should consider having Scotty as the opening act. All-in-all, it was a great time.

Frampton still has it going on!

by DublinDream on 7/19/09Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

Despite the spotty showers, only being able to drink Budweiser products, this was definitely a night I won't forget. Peter can still play the guitar like it's nobody's business, is engaging and even if the hair is gone, the smile is still as brilliant as ever!

    Frampton is still alive!

by J1234 on 7/19/09Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

Peter Frampton put on a great show last night at the LC. He is still amazing with the guitar and could hold his own against today's guitarists.

    Wing Zing was fantastic

by LandJV on 7/19/09Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

Yesterday's Wing Zing was fantastic. The weather was perfect. Every group which performed had a great sound. They were all top level. The wings part of the event was a lot of fun and delicious. The LC Pavillion is an excellent location, not a bad seat in the house. We will definitely attend more events there. Peter Frampton put on an unbelievable show! We were able to be standing just below the stage, what an incredible experience!

    Frampton still has it!

by Krinky68 on 7/19/09Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

I had never seen Peter Frampton until last night and it was worth the wait. I was an enjoyable concert that takes you back to happier, simpler days. Outside of a few young idiots throwing glow bracelets at the stage(which a couple of older guys put a stop to!), there didn't appear to be any altercations. The only thing I would have liked was more vending for soft drinks and water. There are designated drivers that get thirsty as well as people who simply do not drink.

    extremely disappointed

by umhiiskate on 7/19/09Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - Columbus

We showed up at the advertised start time of 3 pm only to find out that Peter Frampton wasn't going to play until 9:45 pm. There was no mention that there were 6 local bands ahead of him. We had to leave before Frampton played. Extremely disappointed.
