They have a new cd that they were introducing..but it strays away from their more latin percussion roots which is what i came to hear....i like their old music vs the new music

Amazing percussion ensemble! The family love and talent rocked the house. As always, the venue was incredible!

  • Incredible Evening with the E Family!

by LadyGBD on 7/11/11Montalvo - SaratogaRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen both Pete Escovedo and Sheila E perform separately many times over the years. Recently, her family performed on TV. It was then that I realized that the whole family has got the talent gene. Pete, Juan, Peter Michael & Sheila rocked it. So much "beat" in one family. Sheila's drum solo towards the end was even more incredible than her drum solo recently on David Letterman's show. So much energy in one family. Sheila changes shoes to play the drums and puts back on the heels for her standing performances. Too cute (but understandable). They performed many of their songs on their new album "Now and Forever" - I bought it at the concert and it's outstanding.

  • What a friend said

by NoSitter on 7/11/11Montalvo - SaratogaRating: 4 out of 5

I had to sell my tickets because I couldn't find a babysitter. Here's what a friend wrote me in an email. The opening act was perhaps the worst band I've ever seen. Straight from the Ramada Inn Mexico City. It was almost funny. But, the E family made up for them. Great show, rockin' rhythms, and fun new stuff!

  • The E Family was amazing

by DianeRianna on 7/11/11Montalvo - SaratogaRating: 5 out of 5

First off, it was the perfect venue. The family's vocals were in perfect harmony. Loved their new music, edgy, youthful, but true to their latin heritage. Sheila E is simply a marvel. Prince stated that she was one of the best drummers of all time. Seeing is believing!
