Penn & Teller On Tour

Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.

Penn & Teller Background

America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

    Just like tv ahow

Good guys were fun but magic was averaged. Didn’t see anything spectacular was definitely not. A Vegas act was definitely more like a backyard party was fun to see a bit expensive for the don’t need to see you again.

Luckily the Whitty Humor and Banter was still there.

Was more disappointed with the Venue than the actual show. Although, I wish there was more “Newer” material. Also… the use of “Obvious” audience “Assistants” was overly evident. The Venue was not up to the standards that should have been afforded such a “Widely Popular Act”.

1.5 Hours of Non-stop Magic Improv

by AnkleDoc on 5/19/24Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic City

Penn and Teller never grow old! They have proven themselves over-and-over to be one of the best magic acts ever! This tour is more of a magic-comedy act with more close-up magic with interspersed comedy, and less big routines. Highly recommended to everyone! Enjoy these legends before it’s too late!

    Mystifying

by pammijohn on 5/19/24Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic City

I was fortunate enough to get on stage and be a part of one of the presentations. I am completely mystified as to how the magic was performed. Really amazing stuff. Drove from Willow Grove, Pa to NYC on a previous occasion to see Penn & Teller and drove to Atlantic City to see them this time. Worth the trip both times. Truly entertaining magic!

    Great show as always

by Jackie on 5/19/24Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic City

The show was a great mix of new and classic Penn and Teller. The tricks were sharp and "how did they do that?"worthy. Truly enjoyable. I only wish they had done a meet and greet afterwards as they sometimes do.

by Ross on 5/19/24Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic City

It was well worth the effort it took to drive from Philadelphia, PA to Atlantic City to see Penn & Teller perform. I hope to see Penn & Teller at another live performance again some sometime in the near future.

    Great Show

by DD on 5/19/24Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic City

The show was fantastic. This was our first time seeing them and they didn’t disappoint. Was nice to see them at Sound Waves in AC which is a smaller venue. The only thing they could have done was show the stage up on the 2 large screens on both sides of the stage for the audience. We were sitting a few rows back in the upper section and it was a little hard to see some of the less dramatic tricks. Those screens just showed the Penn and Teller logo or ads.
