About

Pearl Jam is an alternative rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990. The band's lineup consists of bassist Jeff Ament, rhythm guitarist Stone Gossard, lead guitarist Mike McCready, lead singer/guitarist Eddie Vedder and drummer Matt Cameron. Thirty plus years of live performances, twelve studio albums and hundreds of official live concert bootleg releases later, Pearl Jam continues to be critically acclaimed and commercially successful. The band has sold over 85 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.

In addition to the band's music, Pearl Jam is known for diverse creative pursuits that have built an enduring and inspiring connection to their fans. In 1996, Pearl Jam began its ongoing practice of creating a unique poster for each individual concert date. Starting with a small group of Seattle artists, over the years the program evolved into an international collective of diverse artists - some of whom have won Clio Awards for their work. Posters are hand silk screened and sold in limited quantities at each venue. They have become highly sought after pieces of art.

Since the earliest days, Pearl Jam has used its platform to elevate people and causes that often go unnoticed or underserved. Much of the band's philanthropic work is accomplished through its Vitalogy Foundation which to date has raised more than $50 million for organizations supporting issues such as abortion access, climate change and homelessness, and drawing attention to the fight against diseases such as Crohn's and ulcerative colitis and epidermolysis bullosa (EB). In addition to the money Vitalogy donates, the band also donates signed instruments, posters and merchandise to organizations to use for their own fundraising purposes. Compounding the impact of Vitalogy Foundation, the band has supported Jeff Ament's Montana Pool Service building skate parks in Montana and South Dakota. Pearl Jam also lends its voice to notable causes like the West Memphis 3, voting rights and fair ticketing practices. Over the past three decades, the band has a long history of standing up for what it believes in and putting its resources behind those beliefs.

Through its innovative Ten Club and fan engagement, community building, coveted poster designs, and longstanding activism and philanthropy, Pearl Jam continues to have a lasting impact on generations of music lovers.

    Eddie Vedder's Youthful Performance

    by erink317 on 8/24/09United Center - Chicago

I had never seen Pearl Jam in concert before. I was suprised by how much energy Eddie Vedder and the entire band put into the performance. Far surpassed any performer that I have EVER seen.

I'd give them 20 stars if I could

Pearl jam is one of the greatest bands EVER. Period. Musically, lyrically, emotionally. Eddie Vedder and his team give a 150% percent during their concerts. Played for 2 hours (with a couple of small breaks in between)!

    Solid show

by MichaelD on 8/24/09United Center - Chicago

It started out with Bad Religion. It turns out that I am not a fan. However, Pearl Jam rocked. They played a good mix of songs from all of the albums. The only issue was that it was on a Sunday night and it was a little difficult to get up for work.

    Peal Jam rocked Chicago 8/23/2009

    by PJFanNo5 on 8/24/09United Center - Chicago

The best thing about Pearl Jam is that their music transcends generations and is always new, fresh, and unstoppable. Three encores, and closed with a Yellow Ledbetter. If you are a true Pearl Jam fan you heard songs that only a true fan would be familiar with. Eddie and the band sound better than ever.

    A timeless Band!

by Mylozmom on 8/24/09Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

It had been 12 years since I've seen Pearl Jam live and I must say that they are as good as I remember, if not BETTER! Their sound is flawless, their energy is uplifting and their genuine like for us Torontonian’s is very inspiring. The smile was not wiped from my face once that night and it was all due to the Band and their entire presence. Their timeless appearance and sound made me feel young all over again! THANKS FOR THE GREAT MEMORIES!

    Pearl Jam

by WillFerrel on 8/23/09Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Pearl Jam was great. Third time seeing them - 94, 08 and now 09. They sounded great. The venue and the crowd flow was OK. Service at the concessions was way too slow. Being part of Ontario Place is a benefit.

pearl jam was great, too bad i couldn't see it

    by radman2112 on 8/23/09Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

for all intents and purposes, i missed a great pearl jam show, even though i was there......i am in a wheelchair, and in 300 and 400 wc sections, it is impossible to see the stage when everybody stands. and for a high energy show like pj, everybody is standing for the entire show. i even had to look around people just to catch a glimpse of the video screens. considering there is no discounted price for these seats, this is absoutely unfair. if molson amphitheatre is unable/unwilling to make the neccessary changes to ensure better sighlines for those in wc's, then the seats should be sold as obstructed view seats, w/ some kind of discounted price.......

    Absolutely Peal Jam

    by Astrob8 on 8/22/09Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

Any opportunity you might get to see Pearl Jam TAKE IT! Eddie Vedder is such a great performer with a lot of passion - not to mention his cool style, he brings a bottle of red wine on stage and drinks it throughout his performance ;) Molson Amphitheatre is the perfect summer concert venue (with exception of long beer lines) and our seats in last row 'O' in section 410 were surprisingly just fine - great view!
