PBR: Unleash the Beast on Tour
PBR: Unleash the Beast is the biggest annual series in bull riding — the toughest eight seconds in sports, played out again and again from city to city, pitting the most rugged riders against the baddest bulls. Each two-day stop kicks off with pyrotechnics, but the explosions and flames are quickly outdone by the rides themselves — 35 matchups divided into three rounds of dirt-flinging, arm-flailing and fierce performances by all of the athletes in the arena, human and animal alike. In between, the world's most well-known rodeo clown, the beloved Flint Rasmussen, cuts through the tension with humor tailored to each city. Unleash the Beast brings 750 tons of dirt, 65 tons of steer and 25 tons of steel fencing to every venue on the tour. Each rider faces all of that weight as he competes to qualify for the PBR World Finals, where the winner will walk away with $1 million and the coveted gold belt buckle.
PBR: Unleash the Beast Background
The Professional Bull Riders organization was founded by 20 riders who each brought $1,000 to the table back in 1993. Their goal? To bring their sport to the mainstream, increasing public interest and also prize money for the athletes who risk their lives in the arena. They more than succeeded, boosting annual attendance from 310,000 in 1995 to over 3 million today, while securing major television coverage for their top competitions, while awarding more than $180 million to riders over the years. Though PBR: Unleash the Beast began as the Built Ford Tough Series in 2003, it's been the same gold-standard series throughout, with any rule changes along the way meant to make it a fairer and more thrilling contest. The PBR ranks both bulls and riders, ensuring the best of the best lock horns, so to speak, at every stop.
Great event. Quality of bulls in first round on Sunday was terrible. Not PBR quality!
I THOUGHT THE ARENA WAS VERY NICE A LOT OF CHANGES SINCE I WAS THERE LAST HAD A GOOD TIME EVERY BODY NEEDS TO GO CHECK IT OUT VERY NICE
I always enjoy everything. The star "clown" if thats what they are still called is always enjoyable.
We loved the bullriding. Disappointed Dirteater didn't win the round in OKC, OK, but loved the bullriding. Was very intrigued on how the telecast is recorded. If Flint the clown had not been entertaining us on the opposite end of the arena the event would have been too slow of a pace to keep one engaged. He was broad enough in his entertainment that it captured everyone from 1 - 100 years old. He is absolutely great to watch! Keep him and pay him well!!!!!! We will definitely go again. We traveled 1 1/2 one way and will certainly do it again. Bullriding is one of the most thrilling sports around!!!!!
My husband and I have been to the PBR for about the last 5 years and this year we got to share this with our son and he loved it!!!!!!!!
THe bulls won Saturday night but we came to see a show and thats what we saw!! Absolutely love Flint. We cant get enough of him!!
An exciting, action packed event. Good for families. Great entertainment.
The bulls were great. Just wish it could have moved a little faster. Loading three chutes and then taking a break to reload was like moving in slow motion.
Great experience the seats were good we could see the whole arena and the all access passes were a great experience
Enjoyed the wooley riders,, Could have used the timer somewhere we could all see. like the big screen. Used to seeing it on TV and the timer is on the screen
The event itself was great. The seating was too crammed together and the speakers blocked the view of the big screen.
Enjoyed bullriding very much. Seats were good for price paid. Met L. J. Jenkins. Enjoyed getting his pic and autograph.
The PBR was non-stop excitement. The organizers did a great job of keeping it moving, and when the bullriders were not out, the entertainment was great. I had a group of 8 people from 18 through 76. Everyone had a blast.
Overall the show was great. Very entertaining and exciting!! Could not get over all of the giveaways as soon as you walked inside the Chesapeake Arena.
My family really enjoyed the PBR it was a lot of fun!
I took my 13 year old grandson and it was so hard to convince him he would enjoy the show and when it was over he said can we come back next year? He loved it! We drove from Texas to go and it was worth the trip and we are going back next year. From the first minute to the end was very entertaining. Thank you!
Had a great time the PBR was exciting as usual. Flint was hilarious, we will be going again next year!!
My wife and I enjoyed the evening. We plan on making it to Vagas for the finals.
