PBR: Professional Bull Riders on Tour
For a rodeo rider, trying to master a feisty horse is tough enough, a task not to be taken lightly, but bearing down on a big bull increases the scariness quotient considerably. That's one of the things that makes watching a pro bull rider so compelling — it's thrilling and frightening in equal measure as you marvel at the riders' skills while praying that they make it out unscathed.
These days, when it comes to bull riding, it's all about PBR: Professional Bull Riders. The organization started back in 1992 as a grassroots effort spearheaded by a handful of riders with a vision for what the sport could offer to fans. PBR grew by leaps and bounds over the decades, and by the 2010s they were sponsoring three major tours every year, adding up to hundreds of events with millions of dollars in prizes being awarded annually.
Needless to say, attending a PBR event means watching the best bull riders in the business strutting their stuff. Over the years, champs like J.B. Mauney, Kody Lostroh, Justin McBride, Adriano Moraes, Chris Shivers, and Tuff Hedeman have all distinguished themselves as decorated heroes of the PBR, giving all the rest a high standard to which they could aspire. And each of their tours offer fans the opportunity to catch some bull riding history in the making, be it the Unleash the Beast Series that ends with the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas, The Velocity Tour that showcases the rising stars of the PBR, or the Touring Pro Division split into Western, Central, and Eastern regions.
Whichever PBR competition you end up catching, there's one common thread. You're guaranteed to see some world-class athletes reaching deep inside themselves to tap into the best of their talents and give rodeo lovers an unforgettable experience.
The bull rider from Brazil could have used some medical assistance in my eyes but none was given.
I have never been before so I didn’t know what the expect but wow, they really put on a show. I love the music, the vibe, the theatrics and ready the bull names. It was so fun and we will be going again!
So much fun with friends and family! Would def go again!!
Good value. Awesome show! Really enjoyed the whole experience!!!!!!
My first PBR EVENT and I will be back ! Great entertainment, fun, exciting to the core ! Best evening 8 sec. At a time ! Lots of families, ppl of every age, everyone singing and cheering along, strong public participation, lots of animation from PBR staff, im a fan for life !
We were in the 302 level and were a bit worried about the view but the view was excellent. Was able to see all of the action. Great time ⭐️🐂🤠⭐️
It was an amazing experience and I definitely will be going back! The sound system had stopped working at the beginning of the show, but that didn’t stop them from making the best of it! The riders were unreal and the experience live was way better then in person. Highly recommended!!!
The sound system in the building was not working. It really affected the overall experience. We could not hear the announcers which meant no information about the riders or the bulls Also the a/c in the venue was not on (and I understand not keeping it too cool for the animals) but not on at all! It was 38 degrees outside and felt like at least that inside the building
late start but good show mc did a great job keeping the house active and the show was exciting when it got underway
My first experience and enjoyed it thoroughly!! Will go again for sure!
Great entertainment and everything was reasonably priced. Could use some fans- quite warm.
Omg me n my brother thought it was amazing best event ever there the entertainment was excellent worth the money I hope they come back people were talking about it when leaving
The hype and the bulls were awesome and amazing! Just wasn't very many big names at this one which was disappointing. Was an enjoyable night out still.
Love the PBR and the energy it brought! Great time with great rodeo clowns for entertainment. Action packed and never a dull moment.
The tickets were expensive by most standard events at that venue. It was ok, but nothing special. Our local rodeos produce such talent that it was just like a local bull ride.
What a great birthday gift, thank to all, especially our Military.
This was the first time a PBR event was held at the Mountain America Center. I have attended these type events all over the western US. This event locale was awesome. There was not a bad seat at all. The food and beverage vendors were great, a good selection and very well organized. The event itself was well done, the announcers were easy to hear and understand, the bull fighters and pick-up men were all very professional. I loved it! Well done!!
We have never been to PBR. It was so much fun and I was so excited to see Paige Anne sing the National Anthem. It was a very exciting show. We will definitely go again if they come back to Idaho Falls
I anticipated more professional/touring PBR riders so it was disappointing that only a handful of riders were able to hold the 8 seconds. (Although God bless the efforts of all the fellas). It also felt like there was a LOT going on besides the bull riding, between fireworks, music and flashing lights, the event felt chaotic at times and the volume was a little too high. Seats are also way too close. Probably would opt to not attend next time.
Overall, it was ok. Pre-party - First, my daughter wanted to go to the pre-party hoping to meet/get autographs from some of the riders only to find out there weren't any that came into the pre-party and apparently, it wasn't in the plans for them to. We met the bull fighters (who were great by the way) and then left early and went to Army surplus...that's how fun it wasn't. The event itself - We had great seats and the venue was great so viewing wasn't an issue but we were really disappointed in the quality of riders. For the price of the tickets and all the "hype", we were anticipating a much higher level of riders given that it is a PBR event. It just seemed like the "B"or "C"team rather than a group of professional athletes. We have attended a lot of riding and rodeo events and it felt like a local rodeo with local riders still learning how to ride but couldn't stay on for anything. The bulls definitely won out that night and apparently the night before as well. Not sure I would waste money attending a PBR event in Idaho Falls again. Local rodeos and riding events seem to have the same level of riding for MUCH less.
