PBR: Professional Bull Riders on Tour

For a rodeo rider, trying to master a feisty horse is tough enough, a task not to be taken lightly, but bearing down on a big bull increases the scariness quotient considerably. That's one of the things that makes watching a pro bull rider so compelling — it's thrilling and frightening in equal measure as you marvel at the riders' skills while praying that they make it out unscathed.

These days, when it comes to bull riding, it's all about PBR: Professional Bull Riders. The organization started back in 1992 as a grassroots effort spearheaded by a handful of riders with a vision for what the sport could offer to fans. PBR grew by leaps and bounds over the decades, and by the 2010s they were sponsoring three major tours every year, adding up to hundreds of events with millions of dollars in prizes being awarded annually.

Needless to say, attending a PBR event means watching the best bull riders in the business strutting their stuff. Over the years, champs like J.B. Mauney, Kody Lostroh, Justin McBride, Adriano Moraes, Chris Shivers, and Tuff Hedeman have all distinguished themselves as decorated heroes of the PBR, giving all the rest a high standard to which they could aspire. And each of their tours offer fans the opportunity to catch some bull riding history in the making, be it the Unleash the Beast Series that ends with the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas, The Velocity Tour that showcases the rising stars of the PBR, or the Touring Pro Division split into Western, Central, and Eastern regions.

Whichever PBR competition you end up catching, there's one common thread. You're guaranteed to see some world-class athletes reaching deep inside themselves to tap into the best of their talents and give rodeo lovers an unforgettable experience.

This was an amazing event held at one of the closest arenas used for this rodeo sport. The PBR Velocity Tour Finals is always a highlight preview of what is best to come for the upcoming PBR World Finals. Nothing but Bull Riding. Hope to see more at South Point.

  • Great Event - Clearer Communication From Venue Necessary

by Lisa on 11/17/21Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great show. Went with friends and wasn't sure if I would be entertained throughout the entire event but a great job was done by the team to keep you engaged throughout. Only complaint was the no purse policy that wasn't communicated clearly. There were so many emails about covid policy and entrance requirements but nothing about purses being regulated. We were told that this was an NHL policy, which is fine but not everyone entering the arena is an NHL fan and aware. There were so many angry people as a result. If you did the responsible thing and took a cab or a taxi you were out of luck with a place to put it

  • THE PERFECT WEEKEND

by BK on 11/16/21Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

I have attended the PBR in both Edmonton and London, ON. I LOVE the entire experience. I also appreciate how well the animals are treated, you can tell the people handling them care about their well being. The entertainment is fun and always gets the crowd going. And, who doesn't LOVE a cowboy! LOL

  • PBR was good but venue sucked

    by H. S. on 11/16/21Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 1 out of 5

Arrived at Rogers Place Edmonton to find out no purses allowed. Would have been nice to know in advance. Don't recall seeing any warning when purchased tickets nor did we receive an email. We bused it to Rogers Place so had no car to put our purses in. We had a friend drive to Rogers place to take our purses for us (Some woman were throwing their purses in the garbage) I was not able to carry my 2 EpiPens with me so made me nervous about my health We had seats in Row 3 and there was a metal fence blocking off the first 2 rows which took away half our leg room had to sit sideways. Very uncomfortable. Not a good venue for PBR. Perhaps PBR could find a more suitable venue next time. Didnt like how arena was divided in half and had to watch half the bull rides on the big screen. If I knew I had to watch half the event on the big screen I could have stayed home and waited until it comes on TV

We loved the event. First time going to PBR. Riders were very nice and friendly. They appreciated everyone that came out to support. American way everyone respected the flag and national anthem. Great job!

  • PBR Velocity Tour Finals

by ttfnteri on 11/2/21South Point Arena at South Point Hotel Casino and Spa - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Event took place at South Point Resort in Las Vegas. It's a smaller venue, but has everything a larger venue has, but less people. Since it's a smaller venue, there were no bad seats. They even had an area with items for sale (t-shirts, purses, hats, cowboy/cowgirl boots, buckles etc..). It was a great night of bull riding. The first 3 riders went the full 8 seconds to start the leader board with a bang. I would recommend PBR to everyone and especially this venue. GREAT TIME!

  • Disappointed

by Sad on 11/2/21South Point Arena at South Point Hotel Casino and Spa - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

Was unable to attend and was unable to sell tickets back. Plus bought insurance which said our reason for being unable to attend wasnt an allowable reason. So wasted money on insurance as well as the tickets.

  • Not cool

    by J. K. on 11/1/21SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 1 out of 5

Section M. Row 8. Not cool. I took my partner and oldest and youngest son for this first time experience. We couldn’t see a thing. The shoots were higher than the action. We ended up watching the big screen all night. We were disappointed.

  • Great show

Wow !!! What an experience. The opening ceremony by the Air Force with the National Anthem, The Announcers were very engaging and made a great show behind the Bull riders. The Bull Fighters did an excellent job. Hats off to the men and women behind the scenes of bringing in the Bulls, The staff at the Nutter Center, Security inside and outside the Center. Great people who attended the show as well. Very active and engaging with the show announcers and bullfighter who assisted in the free gift give-aways. Let's do it again and Gitter Dun.

  • Bull Time

by TNFROG on 10/26/21Wright State University Nutter Center - DaytonRating: 5 out of 5

PBR always puts on a grand performance. The bull riders are some of the best athletes along with the bull fighters in the business. It's a great time for adults & kids.

  • PBR

by Jackie on 10/26/21Wright State University Nutter Center - DaytonRating: 3 out of 5

Boring, boring boring!! The announcers talked way too much & you could not understand what they were saying. Between each of the bull rides was…..nothing. Well, there was some music. No funny clown acts, no fancy horse tricks, nothing!! There were even commercials!!! Left after an hour!

  • We had a great time.

by Amy on 10/26/21Wright State University Nutter Center - DaytonRating: 5 out of 5

We really didn’t like having to traverse all the flights of stairs entering and leaving the arena. But we really enjoyed the bull riding.
