Over 3.5 hours of show, jam packed with great music. A great evening at the Birchmere, what a great place to experience a great band.
Outstanding show. Best I heard all year. Great vocals and arrangements. This is a must see show every year. Sells out so order early.
First I will admit while I'm a PMB fan I haven't heard his most recent stuff. Last time I heard him in Boston was a few years ago, at a free outdoor concert that was outstanding. I was expecting something similar, well crafted songs, sweet harmonies, and expert musicianship. I didn't really care for this concert, and here's why: there was too much long, loud jamming, and not enough snappy songs that I am familiar with. As the evening progressed, the songs got longer and louder, and more of a show-off type of jam than a cohesive performance. Pat Lso wasted too much time chatting in between songs, just play, ok? I admit I am older than the crowd there, and I'm also a musician. I appreciated thei expertise, but Pat is not a great guitarist, he's a great singer/songwriter, but it seemed to me he was trying to change personas, and be a rock guitar Idol.
Small, intimate gathering. Pat and the guys came down onto the floor once the concert was over and played an acoustic set standing among the audience! Nothing like singing along to your favorite songs standing right next to them!
The show was awsome. They played for almost 4 hours without an intermission. Does not get much better than that.
Pat and the band put on the best show I have ever seen!! They played a non stop over 4 hours!! That is un-heard of in todays world. The band seemed like they never missed a beat!! I told my wife we should have purchased tickets for the second night also, will do that next time they play.THE BAND ROCKED!!
Fantastic to see the whole band (minus Chris of course.) They sound better than ever. The Birchmere is a great venue. Sound is fantastic.
Great Reunion Show! Loved Al Walsh and gang! Always an entertaining night of great music, fun stories and friends!
Pat & the band (and friends) brought another spectacular show to The Birchmere. The sound was good, the energy was amazing and the playlist had a lot of variety from previous years shows. WELL worth the few dollars for a ticket, the drive to Alexandria and the cost of a sitter. Great job tea bag! (joke from the show) Have a GREAT tour! Love the most recent album.
The man is back. High level performance with great musical talent. The old band really rocked. The full sound was back and truly enjoyed. The entire group came back together like they have been playing together all along. The Birchmere really made the show feel like we were part of the entire show.
Amazing shows!! Had a fantastic time!! Al's mic needed to be a bit louder, otherwise awesome!
They were amazing. PLayed for 4 straight hours, and played every song you would want to hear.
This one went to 11! Good to have the old band back together for the weekend.
Friday was like coming across a photo album from a great time you had . Saturday was like actually being allowed to relive it for a few hours. Except for my friend, who heard them for the first time and Loved It! Please do it again!
Pat McGee and his Band are the best! He always combines a terrific mixture of his harmonic "ballads" and his best rock classics in his live shows. Pat is such a great entertainer, yet such a down-to-earth regular kind of guy. You are severely missing the boat if you have not yet discovered Pat McGee!
Great show and brought back great memories!! Would see him again
I had such a great time! They really put on a fantastic show that went on till midnight. The Brighton Music Hall is a perfect music spot where you can see the band from any spot and there are plenty of bars so no waiting for a drink.
I usually love seeing Pat Mcgee live, and will see him again, but this wasn't as good as usual. The sound was way too loud for the venue, and the sound was kind of muffled and overly "bassy." While the keyboard/sax player was very good, I don't think the band sounds as good without Brian on lead guitar. I'm sure Pat sang well, but hearing his vocals clearly was difficult. The opening band Bronze Radio Return played an energetic set of mostly hooky tunes that were unfortunately played WAY TO LOUD for the venue. I did not see the first performer. I like the Brighton Music Hall, but if you're going, you better get dropped off by your mother, because parking is nearly impossible. You might get lucky, but most of the side roads have signs saying "Resident permit only," and the tow trucks are all around and happy to remove your vehicle.
Both the opener, Boots and Pat Mcgee were very entertaining. Loved the bar performance!
