Parov Stelar on Tour
It's impossible not to be charmed by Parov Stelar's smooth, vintage-hued "electro swing," a heart-pumping, sample-dense mix of swing, jazz and house music. But it took several years and a few aliases for the Austrian musician to fine-tune his signature sound. Born in the northern Austrian city of Linz, Marcus Fuereder started out DJing in clubs in the 1990s, before expanding into the worlds of production and publishing as a cofounder of the Bushido label. At the turn of the century, he began focusing on his own music, releasing a few singles under his own name before taking up the moniker Plasma and dropping his 2001 electronic album Shadow Kingdom.
In 2003, Fuereder founded his own record label, Etage Noir Recordings, then transformed from Plasma to Parov Stelar, debuting under the new name with 2004's Rough Cuts. With the new alias and label, Fuereder would prove to be one of Europe's most prolific artists, releasing at least one new album on Etage Noir nearly every year since. But it was his feel-good track, "Booty Swing," from the 2010 mini-album The Paris Swing Box, that helped his name spread quickly around the world as one of the pioneers of "electro swing." It's a sound other major artists have wanted a taste of — in fact, he's given his magic remix touch to tracks by Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett.
When he's not releasing new music, he's on the road. Since performing Parov Stelar tracks live requires a full band — especially given the music's heavy use of samples and instrumentation — Fuereder is often alongside fellow musicians, sometimes as The Parov Stelar Trio or The Parov Stelar Band for his wildly entertaining shows that fuse bubbly retro sounds with modern club energy. As such, they've toured extensively around the world and taken part in several major European festivals like Glastonbury and Lollapalooza Paris. Witht the weather coming it should have been postponed. During those hours of the show happening it was like a blizzard outside. Not safe for travel. Very disappointed didnt get to go.
Amazing show, great crowd, perfect live music venue
I was not sure what to expect, cause I only new like 2 of their songs, and I thought it was like one DJ and maybe one or two musicians. Turns out Parov Stellar is the name of the DJ, but he has a whole band with him ! Like 5 musicians and 2 singers and all of them are brilliant. I really enjoyed the experience of digital music and acoustic music on stage, that brings up their electroswing style to the fullest. Would go back to see them live on their next tour if they come up with one !
Great concert but were very disappointed that the venue closed right after. Their website says it is open till 2am. Thousands were stuck with coat check line up (1h wait). This would've been avoided with an after show.
Top artist, great atmosphere, everyone was so happy dancing and enjoying themselves. Parov Stelar is a star plus the whole band is top performers. PS: The coat check line - wish you can organize it in a different way to speed up the process.
Parov Stelar concert was absolutely phenomenal! From start to finish, the energy was electric and the music was simply outstanding. Parov Stelar and his band put on an incredible show that had the entire crowd dancing and singing along. The music was a perfect blend of jazz, swing, and electronic beats that created a unique and unforgettable sound. The stage production was also fantastic, with stunning visuals and lighting effects that complemented the music perfectly. But what really made the concert stand out was the passion and enthusiasm that Parov Stelar and his band brought to the stage. They were clearly having a great time, and that energy was infectious. The audience was fully engaged throughout the entire show, and it was clear that everyone was having a blast. Overall, I would highly recommend seeing Parov Stelar live in concert. It was truly an amazing experience, and I can't wait for the opportunity to see him again. If you're a fan of great music, high-energy performances, and an all-around good time, then this is a concert you won't want to miss!
Excellent show by an amazing band at an excellent venue
Amazing concert. The artists were fantastic, able to create the perfect atmosphere to dance and jump around. In my opinion just a little to loud.
The concert was lit, overcrowded but lit. The worst part was the parking, it was like 7-8min of walk for Canadian winter it's a bit long if you are dressed for a concert. At least there should be some warning about the parking area before offering it to buy in advance. Next time will not buy a parking for sure. Also the wardrobe line up was like 30-45mi, which caused me to not to leave my jacket there. Also for next time will buy tickets at the very last day. I paid 50+tax for tickets, the last day they were like $18-$20.

Parov and the band were amazing! From start to finish, the techno swing had the whole crowd moving. His vibe was perfect for the venue. An absolute blast, and the most fun I’ve had in a very long time at a show.
I really enjoyed the concert! The band was great, didn't expect there to be a band at all so I was very pleased and impressed!
I hope Parov Stellar will come back to Boston. Recommended!
Enjoyed Parov Stelar's show so much!! He (and his band) were so much better live and it was a party in there!! The musicians were so talented, it was an exciting mix of jazz swing and house music. So tasteful!
What an amazing show!! Everything I could have hoped for and then some. The band was amazing and so was the audience. And the Fox is just such an awesome venue. Don't miss Parov if you ever have the chance.
It was the best concert I have ever attended. I would recommend everyone to watch Parov Stelar and Fox Theater was pretty cool too.
