Pancho Barraza on Tour
From his debut album onward, Mexican singer-songwriter Pancho Barraza paved his way to banda's most tender and romantic side, las romántica. He's also dabbled in mariachi — his 1997 album, Invéntame Un Amor, featured the cumbia chart-topping song "Pero La Recuerdo."
By his fourth release, El Vagabundo Que Te Ama, the lovelorn crooner proved that his expertise lies in his adventurous banda romancers. That 1998 album offered "Mi Enemigo El Amor" — a heartrending smash whose online streams have been clocked at 44 million on Spotify. To date, Barraza boasts nearly 40 albums, including numerous live recordings and compilations.
In 2018 alone, the prolific performer released two studio albums, Más Fuerte Que Nunca and Un Sueño, as well as two live albums — En Vivo Telmex and En Vivo Palenque, Guadalajara. March 2019 marks the start of a North American tour beginning at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theatre. Audiences can expect to be transported by the classic big-band sounds of Mexican traditional music.
Pancho Barraza Background
Born in the small town of Juan José Ríos in Sinaloa, Mexico, in 1961, Francisco Javier Barraza Rodríguez (aka Pancho Barraza) demonstrated his musical prowess at a young age by participating in local musical contests. Evolving his craft as a singer-songwriter, Barraza decided to enroll at the Bénemerita Escuela Normal to become a music instructor, and by age 22 he was teaching at a middle school in Villa Unión.
Around that time, Barraza joined the town's church choir, and he also became a bassist for a group called Karisma. By the late 1980s, he'd immersed himself in the burgeoning scene of regional Mexican music along with Banda San Sebastian and Banda Camino, before making his mark with the now-famous Banda Sinaloense Los Recoditos in the genre's hotbed of Mazatlán.
With a riveting lineup that included Poncho Lizarraga, Enrique Valdez, and siblings Victor, Miguel, and Silvano Sarabia — and Barraza fronting Los Recoditos — the big-band ensemble released their debut in 1990, A Bailar de Caballito. He led the band until 1995, when he launched his solo career with Mis Canciones de Amor, backed by Banda Santa María.

Amazing!!!!! Worth every penny!! Over 3 hours of performance incredible
Pancho was on time the performance was amazing and incredible. The dancers the mariachi and the crew were wonderful. His 2 sons sing with him I really enjoyed it. Definitely my money worth. If I could I would give him 10 stars. I love it
Greatest show ever had a really great time with my wife
The concert was good but the audio sucked I don’t know if they don’t check sounds but you could hardly hear Pancho singing you heard the band more and I wasn’t the only person upset that you couldn’t hear him sing from the upper rows I left the concert early because I was frustrated
The Toyota Arena is a great place to go to a music even, the staff is friendly, place is clean and is fast and easy to get in and out. My only problem is some of the people who attended the event, they don't let you enjoy yourself, they come and go to get beer and that bothers me we have to keep standing up so they can get through . I hope that soon they will have vendors inside selling beer during the event so we can just sit there and enjoy the event without being bothered all the time. Other then that I am coming back pretty soon👍🏼🤭.
Pancho has a great voice and his songs are fantastic. The venue and crowd was great. He interacts with the people and delivers a powerful 3.5 hour show. We had a great time Muy buen concierto! Su voz es muy buena. igual al disco. Interactua con la gente y entrega un show muy bonito de casi 3.5 horas. La pasamos muy bien y lo volviéramos a ver. My humilde y dedicado el señor Pancho Barraza
Pancho really exceeded my expectations. Very impressive on his timing and attitude. I would definitely see him again!
The sound was very poor. Our whole section could not understand the words he was singing or saying!!! Not worth the money!!!
This was overall a great concert. Pancho Barraza was AMAZINGGG! Staff is also very attentive and super nice. Great place, will return.
Great show I never thought his shows we’re gonna be so energetic and all that I had a great time yesterday, and never forget it 12/9/2023
I had so much fun yesterday 🥹I thought I was never gonna see him in my life his sons were singing with him as well it was a great experience I had so much fun. 🤩
Love performance beautiful and Barraza put effort an show⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🫡⭐️⭐️
Concert was horrible... 2hrs for a singer to come out and sign is nonexectable.. Besides he didn't sign good anymore. Most of the songs the audience sang. In that case I'll just sign at home with my Alexa! Total waste of time and money!!.
For the most of it, security was on top of it. But when Pancho was greeting people everyone was pushing me when I purchased 1st row tickets I dont appreciate being pushed by people that didn't spend the money to see him up close.
This could've been a 5-star review had it started on time. Warm-up act started an hour late and Pancho started two hours after the start time - sad, very sad.
His Performance was Everything!! Love how he interacted with his fans. Played his old goodie songs. Would pay again to see him ❤️
Very highly recommended. He has an exceptional voice.
Not a good show waited over 2 hours for him to come out it was just the worst concert I ever been to
Amazing performance by Pancho Barraza! Amazing Singer, Great Artist! Great staff. Very enjoyable night.
