On July 21st, 2016, a user on 4chan's /mu/ board posted a photo of a CD they'd found at a record store in Nottingham, UK: a rough-worn demo titled D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L, purportedly released in 2000 by four musicians: Owain, Andy, Shaun, and John. The listener uploaded the ripped audio - the recordings sounded like they were plagued with disc rot - to file-sharing sites, and later YouTube, where they began circulating among internet music circles. The record's sensationalist appeal was multifold. Was this an honest-to-God '90s curio? A prank hatched by internet-savvy teens? An internet experiment in nostalgia, in the spirit of vapourwave? Nobody knew. So the Panchiko hive mobilised, gathering on subreddits and discord servers, examining every square inch of the packaging for potential clues, and even calling the Nottingham record store where D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L had allegedly sprung up in the first place. "I woke up one day," recounts Owain, "and ping - there's a message on a defunct Facebook page of mine, 'Hello, you'll probably never read this, but are you the lead singer of Panchiko?'" The query took Owain by shock; to his and Andy's knowledge, D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L had never been uploaded to the internet. The Panchiko fandom finally made contact the following day, when they received their reply from Owain, a simple "Yeah." At last, the world had confirmation: not only were Panchiko not 14-year-old kids, they were the real deal, right down to the disk rot.

I loved this show, the openers were really good. When panchiko was on, the visuals got more trippy compared to the previous ones and it added to the experience significantly. And ofc… can’t forget the actual band; REALLY good, sounded perfect just like the recordings. Hm: The bassist was so sweet and interactive waving at everyone during the show. 10/10 GO!!!
Concert was fun first band was awesome.loved the crowd surfing and main band was amazing. Still can't believe I went. It was fun .
I love attending concerts of my favorite artists and this one has to be going in my top best concerts i’ve been too. I loved jamming to their songs with my friends and feeling the music all around. It was the best when everyone would sing. The only downside is not being able to see the artist but it was amazing to being close and listening.
the visuals used was honestly mind changing. Their openers were awesome and panchiko really put of a wonderful performance. This was my second time seeing them and they truly didn’t disappoint again.
Guitarist nodded at me. They played lifestyle trainers. They were amazing and sounded exactly like the recorded versions. If you have the chance, go!
They are a talented group of lads. Very chill and polite, and blew us away with each song. One of my favorite concerts ever.
A great night of entertainment, solid opening act and the headliner gave it their all!
yes, its a medium-small venue, but it was so great !! they were really interactive with the crowd and of course the music was great!! P.s if ur in the standing area make sure to wear comfortable shoes :3
this was not the best venue for this music. slower paved indie and shoegaze shows would be better at theaters where everyone is sat down. it usually encourages the crowd to be quieter and more attentive, and a lot of people yapping around me because they didnt care about the openers (one of which ive been waiting to see live for almost ten years) made the show experience a lot worse. the stage setup was uninspired, and the showmanship was subpar. the trippy camera visuals were kinda cool but very low effort. ive been to cheaper shows at smaller venues where there were dancers with costume changes, and each song had an animated video projected behind the musicians. (the recent of montreal tour) I understand both panchiko and alisons halo have not put on shows in a long time, but well.
