Pac-12 Championship Game at Levi's Stadium

On Friday, December 6, two of the best teams in the Pac-12 Conference do battle for the right to appear in the Rose Bowl, and for a potential slot in the College Football Playoff. In 2019, the Pac-12 Championship Game plays for the sixth and final time at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, which opened in 2013 and seats 68,000. Starting in 2020, the Pac-12 Championship is to be held in Las Vegas at the brand-new Allegiant Stadium, which seats 65,000 for football.

Pac-12 Championship Game History

With the addition of the Utah Utes and Colorado Buffaloes in 2010, the Pac-10 Conference grew to a size where a championship game became feasible and a name change became necessary. The first three championship games were held at the stadium of the team with the better conference record, before a permanent home was established at Levi's Stadium, 40 miles south of San Francisco. Oregon hosted the first Pac-12 Championship Game on December 2, 2011, defeating UCLA, 49-31.

The Pac-12 North has won all but one championship game, with Stanford winning three times, and Oregon and Washington each winning twice. In 2017, the USC Trojans defeated Stanford by a score of 31 to 28, with future New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold winning the game's Most Valuable Player award. The 2018 Pac-12 title game was a defensive battle, with Byron Murphy's pick-six and first of two interceptions in the game being the difference for Washington in its 10-3 victory over Utah. Winners of the Pac-12 Championship Game have gone on to the College Football Playoff twice, with Oregon winning the 2005 Rose Bowl over Florida State before falling to Ohio State in the first CFP National Championship Game, and Washington losing to Alabama in the 2017 Peach Bowl. Six of the eight Pac-12 Championship Game winners have gone on to play in the Rose Bowl, going 4-2 in the New Year's Day classic.

    Last PAC 12 Championship

by Beaver believer on 12/4/23Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

As faithful OSU Beavers we hesitated keeping our tickets for the Husky & Duck championship game but we are so happy we attended! The stadium is amazing and we had great seats! It was a great game and a nail biter right up until the end! The Huskies should be proud of their win! Sorry Ducks 😜

An Amazing Night for the Huskies!!

by KevDaWg on 12/4/23Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

Everything about the experience was incredible. We had a nice tail gate under warm enough weather. Getting into the stadium was a breeze. Beer lines were reasonable, the sight lines in the stadium were clear as were the directions. but the best part of the evening was the game itself!! An amazing win by the Dawgs over the hated Ducks in the last Pac-12 championship game ever. Quite a night indeed!

    Allegiant Stadium

by JPaul on 12/4/23Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

We had seats in 4th deck row 2, which is actually the first row, on the 50 yard line. The view of the field was amazing. The actual seats were the worst. I was there with two of my buddies and we had to alternate sitting forward and back to have any room at all. The seats are tiny. I was told by guest services that this is a common complaint. If you spend more to sit in the lower bowls, it gets better but none of them are great. I was in Vegas for a fiends weekend. We were debated getting tickets to the MWC Championship game the next day so we could see 2 conference championship games and then to see the Vegas Knights hockey later Saturday night. We quickly decided that wasn't in the cards because none of us wanted to duplicate that experience. It really was the worst.

    Our expensive seats were terrible

by Raiders Fan on 12/4/23Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

We bought our three tickers in section 129 because the end seat was advertised as being for the handicapped. It is NOT the case. We are Raiders season ticket holders of ADA seats because we need them and they are true ADA seats. This back row was absolutely horrible. People in from of us stood for most of the game making it impossible for us to see. We are two elderly people with a disabled son. Please do not advertise seats as being for the disabled when they are not. We have a picture from the back of the seat that clearly shows an ADA symbol.

    Underwhelming

by Rocko on 12/4/23Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

First of all, I feel like it’s common to turn off the stadium lights and do some strobes for team intos. Something about it gets the crowd immersed and hyped. This didn’t happen. Instead the lights were left on. In addition the speakers were probably the quietest I’ve heard in any stadium. So with the combination of that and the lights being left on, it made it hard to even know teak intros were happening and get hyped for them. Furthermore, the in game announcer didn’t really get into it until about 5 minutes left in the game. This also decreased the hype. Lastly there was hardly any in game replay. This made it even harder to get immersed into the game and you can tell the crowd wanted to watch some replays. The only thing that was good was the DJ. He was hype and was playing good hype music. It’s disappointing that this is how the last pac 12 championship game was hosted. Especially one with playoff implications. Let’s just hope this stadium doesn’t host another power 5 (now power 4) championship game.

    Great Quarterback Play

by KBMI on 12/4/23Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

The game was rewardingly close due to excellent quarterback playing by Penix Jr. and Nix. The UW linemen controlled the line of scrimmage. A very entertaining game in a first-rate facility.

Best End of An Era Experience

by The Diegos on 12/4/23Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

The staff was top-notch across the board!! This being our first visit to Allegiant and finding that the staff was the existing Raiders staff - they were exceptional. Only negative is it was really hard to navigate from the VIP section for swag so it would have been nice to have (even if limited) that option from the area we were located.

    Good

by Indo on 12/4/23Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

It was difficult to transfer the tickets to me. I was in the Ticketmaster system but didn’t realize it. I have attended college football games at 7 different venues this season and got confused on the different sellers. The online reps help solve the problem. Got a good seat at a favorable cost.

You could feel the momentum shift back and forth. The passion was palpable. The entire stadium was electric. Here's to two great PAC-12 football teams. And an appropriate way to cap the era of the Conference of Champions!
