OUTKAST IN CONCERT:

Known for their infectious hooks and eccentric stagewear, hip-hop legends Outkast have been spitting hits since their 1994 debut Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. Whether Andre 3000 and Big Boi are exchanging verses on "Ms. Jackson" or flowing hard on their classic "Roses," the rappers still know how to get down during their performances and deliver the goods for audiences. Back on tour, Outkast will have fans shakin' it like a polaroid picture as they reunite for their highly anticipated shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Atlanta-based duo Outkast got their start in the early '90s as a high school music project between Andre "Andre 3000" Benjamin and Antwan "Big Boi" Patton. They released their breakout debut Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik in 1994, which featured the No. 1 single "Player's Ball" and launched them to success virtually overnight. Since then, Outkast have met with tremendous critical and commercial success over the course of their two-decade career including Top 10 spots for all six of their studio albums, six Grammy Awards, and praise from Rolling Stone and Pitchfork for being pioneers in the hip-hop game. Back on tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary, Outkast will treat lucky ticket buyers to their trademark energy at a number of must-see performances.

    Return of the G

by Sammybandz on 7/2/14Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - Milwaukee

%50 of what they played was '98 or earlier. Couldn't have asked for a better set during what was probably the only chance I'll ever get to see the greatest rap/hip hop duo of all time.

    What a show!

by KatieB22 on 7/2/14Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - Milwaukee

This show was everything we wanted! I would love if Outkast came out with a new album, but just listening to their current music when I've never seen them live was amazing. I've wanted to see them since the 90s, and it was great. The opener, Gary Clark Jr was amazing too, so talented.

Too short of a concert for the money, decent show but when you pay that kinda money the concert should be longer than an hour.

Although they made it a short show, Big Boi and Andre 3000 put on a dope show and had the crowd going the entire time. Yo Andre! Where can I get that shirt though?!

This was such an amazing concert! To have Andre 3000 and Big Boi back together again felt so normal. ... You could not tell that they haven't really performed together in over 5 years! ! Wish that this was the beginning of a new album for them. They had such energy. .. It was absolutely outstanding!!

From B.O.B. to The Whole World, this concert was pure FIRE! I've always been an Outkast fan. This show just proved that 20 years in the game didn't slow Andre3000 and Big Boi down. Epic!

    Outkast still has it!

by Ptown777 on 7/2/14Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - Milwaukee

Gary Clark Jr. opened the show. Amazing blues guitarist! Outkast's set was a great mix of their early songs and newer. There was a little bit of awkwardness when switching to and from the solo portions.

Outkast's decade away from performing left them ready to put on an amazing performance. Wow, great show!

    So Fresh, So Clean

by PR1NCE on 7/2/14Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - Milwaukee

Re-union shows can be a scary thing, in that you get the feeling of, "Is this just a cash grab" so the artists can just maintain their lifestyle or will they perform like they care. Well Outkast put on a excellent show. I like the fact that when you get a rap act per se they don't rely on recorded tracks or a DJ as the backing music. Outkast had a band and background singers. Big Boi and Andre were into what they were doing and it made for an excellent show. The one drawback I didn't care for was the bass was too loud on several songs which distorted the music and the singing/rapping.
