I was a bit sceptical about Orlando Philarmonic, and them performing Beethoven's 9th. Good thing is they proved me wrong.
Orchesta was on top of their game, and let me say it was a very very nice top. The wind section could defintly use some improve on their performance, at times they sound a bit weak in compare to others. Oboeist good, flute good, trumpets and horn a bit weak. The last compass of Finale, where trumpets are needed, they just weren't. The other sections and the choral were top quality.
The soloists, well did a good job, not very good nor excellent. Baritone had problems with the first lines, and tenor kinda struggled too, but not as much as the baritone, whose range of voice was not appropiate.
Mezzo Soprano was clear, and top notch, the best of all four. Soprano was good, but could have been better.
Director was impecable.
Acoutsic of Bob Carr, was very good.
Overall very surprising performance, I was very happy as I hand't listened to the 9th live in about 6 years.
