Orlando Magic History
Joining the NBA in the 1989 expansion era, the Magic struggled for three years until picking center Shaquille O'Neal first in the 1992 draft. The Magic finished at .500 in the 1992–93 season, barely missing the playoffs. Then, with only a slim chance in the 1993 draft lottery, the team won the rights to pick No. 1 again. They used their selection, Chris Webber, in a trade to obtain guard Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway and future picks.
O’Neal and Hardaway led the Magic to 50 wins in the 1993–94 season and then 57 victories, as well as a trip to the NBA Finals, the following year. In the 1995–96 campaign, the Magic won a franchise-record 60 games in what would be O'Neal's last season in Orlando. They made it to the Eastern Conference finals against the Chicago Bulls.
Over the next 10 years, the Magic made the playoffs five times under the leadership of coach Doc Rivers and Hall of Fame guard Tracy McGrady, who earned two scoring titles and the 2001 Most Improved Player award during his tenure. The 2006–07 season saw Orlando start a run of six consecutive postseason appearances, as star center Dwight Howard blossomed and the Magic surrounded him with young talent and savvy veterans.
The Magic reached the second round of the playoffs in 2008 behind Howard and forwards Hidayet "Hedo" Türkoğlu and Rashard Lewis. The following season, with trade acquisition Rafer Alston filling in for injured point guard Jameer Nelson and sharpshooter J.J. Redick taking on a more prominent role, the team won 59 games and defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, the Boston Celtics and the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs. It earned the Magic a second trip to the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Following Howard’s trade to the Lakers in 2012, the Magic began a decade-long rebuilding process while developing notable talents like Victor Oladipo, Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vučević. The Magic’s luck seemed to improve after reaching playoff contention once again in 2019 and 2020, and landing top draft picks such as Mo Bamba, Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner, and 2023 Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero.

It was an amazing experience caught a tshirt from the revolver launcher 😊
If you want to be disrespected, yelled at, and have a miserable experience… Amway centre is the place to be. Worst security staff in the league and really ruined my night on hith nights i went in one weekend
This was our family’s first time attending and Orlando magic game and our first time visiting the Amway center. Every process was very smooth from ticketing to parking, seating, concessions, and leaving. Ushers were available and friendly to answer questions. Parking attendants made the rush to leave a breeze from the Geico garage. The game itself was highly entertaining and even our “nosebleed” seats afforded us a wonderful view of the game! We can’t wait to go back again.
The organizarion and experience is great since we park the car. The Arena is comfortable and everything works very well.
It was a great experience in the Amway center. My self and my family enjoyed the game.
All was good except too many players were not playing for varying reasons, so was disappointing for kids. Trapped feeling when this happens and you cannot get out to try again another time when it is more worth it.
Section224 Row3 Seats 1+2. Seats for Magic basketball game. These seats are even more uncomfortable than the back seats on an airplane. Need to remove every other seat and row in the entire nose bleed sections. I had to get up 3 times to stretch so I didn't cramp up. Every seat should have its own arm rest. Raise the price of tickets to pay for this if needed. The price of tickets are so hi that it would not even be noticed.
Best organization and the best show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was perfect since I’ve arrive at the park lot, until I’ve leave there… great structure, seats, food, beverage’s, toilets and the game!!! When I travel again to US, definitely I will see another game !!!
We've been to attend others Nba games in other cities and everything was much more fun and engaging than in Orlando at the Amway Arena! Very poor entertainment, no cheerleaders, when they throw the t-shirts they always throw them in the same sector of the arena, absurd, and what do the others do? Don't they have the right to have a chance? No shirt or other gadget on the seats, with such a high ticket price, everyone expects much more, believe me!! They could even give a shirt to every spectator, I think... I wasn't happy of the whole night, it was much much better in Cleveland, in Miami or in any other arena of the Usa where i've been before! You have to do much much more if you want people to come to Magic games, what you do now it's not enough, sorry i'm disappointed! And since there were so many empty seats inside the arena I think I'm right... you better meditate folks on these things!
I enjoyed the game a lot. Lots of fun! The Ticketmaster app made it easy to add the ticket to my wallet.
Never been to a basketball game before but enjoyed it immensely. As with everything America does.....put on a really entertaining show. If you ever get a chance, go as you won't be disappointed.
It was my sons first NBA game and he had the greatest time! We learned where to sit for the free stuff they shoot out into the crowd. The sests were comfy and just the whole experience was fun! Just wish they had cupholders.
Hi! This game against Dallas was our family’s ever first nba experience and it was amazing!! Wonderful atmosphere and a exciting game, thanks!!
Never been to a NBA game and wasn't disappointed, it was a jam. Staff were super friendly and the whole party atmosphere of the NBA was dope.
Great family experience A must when u visit Orlando
We are holidaying in Orlando so wanted to watch a local game We were very pleased with a very exciting nail biting game The facility’s were brilliant lots of food options and my husband loved all the T-shirt in the store The only issue we had was we paid for parking but due to road closures the sat nav couldn’t find the parking we ended buying additional parking so we did not miss the game We used the ticket office as we were unable to find tickets on my phone the member of staff was brilliant very helpful and soon sorted the issue
Was awesome, my first NBA game. Beautiful Stadium, friendly fans and nice beer.
Paid for parking in Geico garage which worked fine. However before the doors open everyone piles up in the garage. It is overcrowded and very hot. The bridge between the garage and arena is air conditioned but does not open until the arena doors open. Need a better system.
Purchase, entrance, and seating were seamless and accurate. Will use again for future games as well as for parking.
