    It was different

    by Coolkid65 on 2/18/10Ohio Theatre - Columbus

To be honest, Ive never gone to an "Opera" before and wasnt sure how I would like it. I wasnt aware that it was in French (probably should have read up on that beforehand) but it wasnt bad. I probably will never go to one again just because its not my "cup of tea" but I think everyone should experience one in their lifetime.

An experience I will never forget!

    by butterfly29 on 2/16/10Ohio Theatre - Columbus

My husband and I went to see the Opera Romeo and Juliet. This was the first Opera we have been to. We were both in awe when we saw the beauty of the Ohio Theatre and the Opera was heartfelt, sad and romantic. I would recomend that everyone go see at least one Opera. It is an experience you will never forget.

    Awesome Opera

by revblind on 2/15/10Ohio Theatre - Columbus

Wow, what an incredible Opera. This was my first opera Romeo & Juliet had wonderful chemistry. I got mesmorized by the costumes, the scenery. The English subtitles were not overpowering. Shakespheres original words were used in spots shown by yellow text. The cast was excellent. Juliet was delicate and quite beautiful. You could feel the passion between them. I'll be back for more!

Awesome show. We sat in the front row, so we got to see every facial expression and even the orchestra! Amazing!

    Drew you into the event

by SRiv on 12/14/09Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

At first, the video presentation seemed a bit hokey, but it quickly drew you into the story of this great talent. Introducing his family in attendance brought an even more personal feel to the production - it was like watching your own family history unveil in front of you. The tenors were wonderful and also fun. Loved it. Only negative comment was that the sound could have been a bit higher - in the 2nd row and the projection of the tenors was a bit low...and we don't have hearing problems. Otherwise, it was worth coming out in the very cold weather to be a part of such a wonderful event.

    Once in a lifetime!

by HMW75 on 12/13/09Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

A rare treat to enjoy three artists, multiple songs and the orchestra outside of a formal full length opera performance. More casual but still spellbinding. Bravo! More like this please!

    Enjoyed production

by cmassa on 10/24/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

Vocals and symphony were wonderful. We did have a bit of trouble seeing a little of the production due to the orchestra being directly behind the scene, forcing the story out to the extreme front of the stage. I generally prefer the loge for the acoustics and view but, at this production would have preferred the floor. Again, vocals and symphony were wonderful. Stage layout was not the best for this particular venue.

    Pagliacci was great!

by MollsC on 10/24/09Ohio Theatre - Columbus

The performance of the 4 lead players was very moving. The character Pagliacci was the best, the "laugh, clown" aria was fantastic. go see it!!
