Omar Apollo is one of music's most exciting shape-shifters. In just a few years time, the Indiana-raised Mexican-American singer-songwriter went from teenage strummer to one of the most hotly-tipped rising stars of his generation. Apollo has had a transformative but linear journey, from listening to Brandy and Stevie Wonder as a kid, to plucking away at a guitar at as a pre-teen, to self-releasing a pair of EPs as a young man--2018's Stereo and 2019's Friends--that established his signature "bedroom soul" and earned him love from fans and press (Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The FADER, et al.). As unique as his sound is, Apollo has garnered as much attention for his lyrics--themes of romantic yearning and self-improvement swirled up with expressions of cultural heritage and identity. In 2020, he released his home-recorded project Apolonio which featured collaborations with Bootsy Collins, DJ Dahi, Albert Hammond, Jr., and more. To celebrate Apolonio's release, Apollo performed a livestream concert from Paisley Park, the legendary residence of one of his heroes, Prince. 2021 saw the release of two singles, "Go Away," which Apollo performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and "Bad Life" featuring Kali Uchis. Apollo closed out the year on a high note receiving his first Latin GRAMMY nomination for his collaboration "Te Olvidaste" with C Tangana. Apollo's long-awaited debut album IVORY arrived in the Spring of 2022 and catapulted him to another level in his career while earning him critical acclaim from the likes of the New York Times who celebrated his "knack for jagged, irreverent pop songs" and Rolling Stone who declared him "one of the most exciting artists of his generation." Album singles such as "Invincible" featuring Daniel Caesar, "Killing Me", "Go Away", and "Tamagotchi (Prod. by Pharrell and Chad Hugo)" cross genre lines as well as language barriers as the full-length showcases even greater musical diversity from the already boundless creator. He went on to perform those and more at a breakout Coachella set in April of 2022 and again across his sold out Desvelado tour. Despite all that he has accomplished, Omar feels like he's just getting started. The artist who once called himself "just a kid from Indiana" is breaking new ground, abandoning all comfort zones, and never looking back.
First of all the theater was absolutely stunning. Clean bathrooms, about 4 separate booths for drinks, and a merch table as soon as your enter. Omar was absolutely breathtaking, he did it all! Sing, dance & interact with fans. He performed for about over an hour and my only complaint is that he didn’t sing my favorite song. Such a beautiful voice & of course he brought me to tears. Hoping he comes back soon💚
He sounds so good guys, the songs sounded exactly like the albums on spotify. He sang older songs as well as new ones which was nice bc i didn’t know about him before this year! I loved my time there, thank you Omar. Amazing experience 10/10 recommended

I loved seeing omar, an amazing performer for sure. Almost didn’t get to see him because of security, but so glad i did. he’s amazing and knows how to keep a crowd entertained. much love for Omar and i’m definitely looking forward to seeing him again sometime❤️

He is so fine and majestic, one of the best performers I’ve ever seen. I will never forget that experience. 10/10. Wish I could've seen him closer though.
this was my first time at aragon & i was not disappointed!! the energy in the venue was amazing. it didn’t take too long to get out, but getting in took a while & there was some confusion with the line.

Had to wait in the cold, they didn’t check bags and it was so crowded. I honestly felt like this is why we have so many viruses. Concert was watched entirely through other people’s phones. Thanks for the confirmation that I’m not going to concerts anymore.
ive never seen someone entertain the crowd so much in a concert. the waistline was CRAZY. moves like jagger. I feel the need to personally thank omar for putting in an unforgettable show.
We’re from Toronto. We took the opportunity to see Omar live in New York while we were there for the weekend. He delivered and didn’t leave a single crumb. Very deserving of his Grammy nomination. He’s ready to take on the world. I had an amazing experience, go Omar!

Omar and his opener, Ravyn Lenae, were fantastic! Such great energy, beautiful vocals. Despite his voice being delicate from losing it a few days prior, Omar gave it his all and there in some jokes about it haha. His band was also amazing! Kings Theatre is such a nice venue, it’s really cool they can create a pit in the theatre. Only con was the
Omar did such a good job at his NYC night two show! He interacted with his fans various times! The concert was all good vibes and awesome! He is a great performer and even brought out a special guest. He also ended the show with a really good song leaving us all to be in a good dancing mood! :)
His performance was great. I was not a fan of the opening act, but ignoring that my partner and I had a good time. Omar had a bit of trouble with his voice for this particular event as he had lost his voice the week before. I'm assuming that was why he had a backing vocal track. Either way, it didn't take away from our enjoyment. I'm looking forward to hearing what he does next, he's a talented artist. The VIP ticket was handy for not having to arrive excessively early but the tote back and keyring was a pretty poor bonus.

Omar Apollo has been a rising star, from the release of Ugotme in 2017 to his viral sensation Evergreen. He has proved time and time again that he has the ability to create music that moves and a performer to match. Seeing him live is always an incredible experience and seeing his fame grow is amazing to watch as well. Omar deserves all the recognition he has received and the sky is the limit for him. Can’t wait to see what comes next.
