OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN IN CONCERT:
Olivia Newton John is one of the top-selling recording artists of all time, but to many fans she'll forever be doe-eyed Sandy from the 1978 blockbuster film Grease. Newton John's Summer Nights residency at the Flamingo in Las Vegas takes its name from one of Grease's most popular musical numbers, and a medley of beloved songs from the film's soundtrack provides the centerpiece of the show. Newton John rounds out the experience with pitch-perfect performances of her early country material, songs from the Xanadu soundtrack, and pop hits like "Physical", making for an unforgettable night of career-spanning hits, something true fans won't want to miss.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in England and raised in Australia, Olivia Newton John got her start performing with a short-lived Melbourne girl group called Sol Four. She appeared on various Australian TV programs before traveling to Britain in 1966 to record her debut single "Till You Say You'll Be Mine". In 1971 she released her first solo album If Not For You, scoring her first No. 1 hit with the title track and landing another hit with follow-up single "Banks of the Ohio". In addition to landing seven consecutive No. 1's on the Adult Contemporary chart during the '70s, she experienced considerable success as a country artist with a popular cover of John Denver's classic hit "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and her Top 10 hit "Let Me Be There", which earned her a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. The pinnacle of her fame came in 1978 with her starring role in the musical film Grease and its accompanying soundtrack, which spent 12 weeks at No. 1 and still appears on Billboard's Top Soundtracks chart today. The '80s saw Newton John shed her good-girl image in favor of the edgier look and sound as she unveiled on 1981's "Physical", an international smash and the decade's top-selling single in the US. In 2014 she debuted her Summer Nights residency show at the Flamingo in Las Vegas, earning praise from critics and fans alike for her elegant performances and perfectly preserved voice.
Olivia Newton John is still a fantastic performer. Throughout the entire show people were standing up and applauding or cheering enthusiastically. She sings as well as she ever did. She is a class lady that exhibits great character. She has overcome extreme difficulties and is a real survivor. Olivia is as good as it gets!
Olivia was vibrant, joyful, and so in touch with the audience. It was evident that her fans have a genuine love for her and she clearly witnessed it as she expressed gratitude with tears in her eyes after receiving a standing ovation for singing "Stronger Than Before". Her voice is still phenomenal and something to behold. What an amazing human being and how lucky we are to get the chance to watch her perform and tell stories about her songs.
I have loved her all my life, and her performance Saturday night was flawless. I saw her in Vegas a few years ago also. Her show was amazing. A must see!!! We happened to run into her at our hotel and she was so gratious and kind when we spoke, which makes you love her even more!
She was absolutely fantastic, especially considering her quick recovery from her most recent bout with cancer.
While Olivia was on her way back from cancer, she put on an amazing show! I have seen her many times and once again she did not let me down! SEE HER LIVE!!
It was all the way back in grade school when Grease came out. I have been a fan ever since. The show was magical, even after all this time she has never sounded better. Brought back a flood of old memories. Would love to see her again.
I can't believe anyone would not want to see Olivia in concert. Everyone needs to see her at least once. I have seen her 5 times over the years and each time was a unforgettable experience.
It was a great concert-I've always enjoyed her music, but seeing her live added a new dimension to her music. Glad she decided to swing by Phoenix and see us!

Olivia Newton-John was amazing!! The ticket to her show was my Birthday Present and the Best Present Ever!! I would see her over & over again!!
Olivia put on a great 2-hour show, and showed that even at 69 years of age, she still has the pipes to sing her songs beautifully. Despite her health issues, she put on a very energetic, upbeat, and entertaining show. Some of her more recently-written pieces were quite moving and inspiring, and it was very nostalgic to hear her old country hits and Grease numbers. She's a wonderful talent, and an even more wonderful and beautiful human being. All my best wishes to Olivia for healing and health.

Absolutely Love concerts at Talking Stick Casino. Small venue so no matter where you sit, all of the seats are great!! Olivia Newton John was fantastic!! She was fun, funny, energetic, involved the audience and all of her songs were heartfelt. Had a fantastic night...

We very much enjoyed hearing Olivia sing in person in this cozy venue!
While Olivia sang like she did almost 40 years ago, there were too many distractions to make the show an enjoyable event. First off, the Ballroom is not a place for "fan" enjoyment (to spread out). Secondly, we spent too much time having to look at the screen to actually see her. Thirdly, moving the lights around in the audience's faces was not appreciated. Fourthly, the so-called "steam-generating" machine oftentimes block the screens. Bottom line, we will never see a singer in the ballroom again.
Olivia was great she involved the crowd and more. I was front row and it was a delight to see her. She even signed my record for me when she saw I had one from the crowd.
She was funny and her voice was on point...it was a lovely show with not one lull...did ALL of hits and then some! Loved it 1000%
This is the first time I saw her in concert, though I have been a fan since the early 1970s. My seating was good. If she comes back to the Genesee I am definitely upgrading my ticket. In short, the Genesee brings in the best and the greatest as was evident with Olivia's wonderful show.
On August 24th 2017, Olivia's first concert since being diagnosed with breast cancer again, was truly a magical, inspiring show. She was grateful for all who was there for her. She looked and sounded to perfection. This woman is one I try to never miss. It was worth the 3+ hours to see her. If you have the chance to see any of her remaining shows, GO!!!
