About

OK GO IN CONCERT:

Not many indie rock bands are as irresistibly charming as OK Go. They create truly infectious, sunny alt pop songs and perform them with loads of charisma and quirky playfulness in concert. With confetti cannons exploding at any given time and Andy Warhol-inspired visuals surrounding the stage, this is a band that relishes the art of performance and transforms shows into interactive experiences. One impressive trick they're known for is prompting the crowd to make certain noises, recording the audio, and then playing it back in a song. Masterminding the spectacle is frontman Damian Kulash, who exudes magnetic personality and gives every performance a casual, friendly atmosphere. For a band that's famous for imaginative, eye-grabbing videos, OK Go's live shows prove they're even more captivating in person.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

OK Go formed in Chicago in 1998 and relocated to Los Angeles three years later. After their first pair of EPs captured booking agent Frank Riley's attention, they scored a touring gig alongside fellow indie rockers They Might Be Giants. In 2001 they inked a deal with Capitol Records and released their self-titled debut album, which reached No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Following the release of their sophomore album, 2005's Oh No, the band established a reputation for high-concept, low-budget, one-take music videos. The video for their hit single "Here It Goes Again" -- which features the quartet performing an elaborate treadmill dance routine -- became a viral hit and earned them a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video in 2007. After successful tours opening and co-headlining with indie acts including Snow Patrol, Death Cab for Cutie, Kaiser Chiefs, and Silversun Pickups, they released their third album, 2010's Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky. In 2011 the band cut ties with Capitol and formed the independent imprint Paracadute, making their debut on the new label with the live album 180/365. The band’s fourth studio album, Hungry Ghosts, was released in 2014 and featured a more synth-heavy, electronic-influenced sound.

Great deal to see 3 bands for one low cost! However, we were primarily there to see Ok Go. They played for 2 hours and their show was amazing!!! They came out into the crowd, talked to the fans, and really put on a great show!!

by FriendlyPancakes on 4/23/15Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

Seriously this was the best day of my life OK GO is so perfect and the show was better than any other concert I've been to. They are so interactive with the audience, the venue was the right size and it was totally safe during the show and while leaving. Family friendly and such a deal for the general admission tickets. Recommend, recommend, recommend!

    Ok Go Geeky Love

by gretel2374 on 4/18/15Newport Music Hall - Columbus

The show was great! Techno visuals with Q&A portions of the show made for a unique experience. The music was straight on wonderful. The only bummer: The tickets read showtime at 7:00. It turned out to be "doors open at 7:00 and the band takes the stage after 8:30." Just a bit of mis-communication on the ticket seller's part.

Ok Go was fantastic! I love their music, their stage presence, and their originality. They put on a great show. I particularly loved the confetti and black light reactive bubbles. The venue was nice and open, and the sound was great. I would definitely go again.

    Ok Go was irresistably fun

by Drosophila on 4/14/15Terminal 5 - New York

The concert was interactive (question and answer sessions, crowd surfing, etc), fun (so much confetti) and unexpected (a Led Zeppelin cover- done really well?!). The best part for me was that the band, especially Damian Kulash, looked like they were having fun too. I can't wait til they hit the east coast again- I will be there!

    Awesome

by Paparune on 4/14/15Terminal 5 - New York

There stage show was as innovative as their videos. They sound better live than recorded which is a rarity today. Also for those who only know them from their videos, they have some really amazing albums and this new one might be their best. Go and you'll have a blast.

OK Go knows how to put on a show!

    by Martian38 on 4/14/15Terminal 5 - New York

They were all about the audience and making sure everyone had a great time. Not only did they have great visuals and sound, they interacted with the crowd, asking for questions and even having people come dance on stage. They weren't there to just play some songs, they were there to entertain and they succeeded at that beyond my expectations.

    See OK GO live!

by HankTheTurtle on 4/12/15House of Blues Boston - Boston

It was awesome! If you've seen any of their music videos, you can get an idea of the kind of show these guys put on. Add to that them talking with and taking questions from the audience throughout the night, and a crap ton of confetti. It was really something special.

    Even better than expected

by Anonymous on 4/7/15The Pageant - St Louis

OKGO lived up to expectations & beyond. They made great music, & of course had top notch visuals as well. They did q&a sessions between sets & let some of the audience on stage at the end of the show.
