Most everything was good. However, the meet program ($5) contained numerous errors in every sprint & relay event. Some runners/teams listed as being in Heat 1 of a race (Prelims) were actually in Heat 2 and vice versa; was confusing. Also, bring back the paper heat sheets on Day 2! Scanning a bar code in the program & asking patrons to view them on a phone the size of a postcard in the glaring sun is not good. Nearly impossible to read…Otherwise, the meet was run pretty well!
Great to be back at Jesse Owens Stadium. All three meets were great. Many meet records set. Weather was great.
Awesome venue, easy access with scan machines at gates. Maira Scott takes second in the 200. Best weekend 🎉
Well organized meet. Loved the big screen for when someone stood up and blocked view. Great weather, great time, great results for our team. Wish the times on the screen were not partially obscured by equipment in front of the screen.
Little to no shaded area. Could have easily placed tents or allowed tents on the back stretch on the grass. No way to view the long jump competition- Need some elevated bleachers. Only about 10 people could see, once the kids got to the fence - their only choice was to stand. The three step bleachers which were provided you could not see the jumps due to people standing on the fencing line. No healthy food choices. This is a track meet, not a country fair.
Terrible time. We are too old to live with all the passwords etc. couldn’t have done it without younger generation
Every year this event never ceases to amaze me from the talented athletes participating, to the Awesome way the tournament is run! Great Job all!
Most everything was set up well and the facilities are very nice. I had 2 items that could have been better however. They had placed a fence right in front of the finish line timing that made it almost impossible to see the exact times for the runners. It needs to be moved next time. Also, the video footage is a nice idea, but it was so wide-view that you could tell who anyone was. Would be much better if the camera would zoom in on the top runners so you could actually watch the screen. Just a thought. Overall though a great experience!
My daughter ordered my tickets for me on her sent and sent them to my phone. I showed two tickets paid for on my phone but when we were at the stadium only one would scan. They tried to find another for about 15 minutes but finally they just let us in.
Watched OHSAA Track and Field Championships! Well done!
Purchasing the tickets was a breeze, but the information on the guidelines were incorrect. I saw women bringing in purses bigger than what was stated.
My family spent many hours watching our granddaughters in their events. The events held to their scheduled times. Exciting and fun meet. Weather cooperated!
The entire event seemed to run like clockwork. Races stated when they were scheduled. There seemed to be no controversy. Facilities were outstanding. A couple of areas for improvement: 1.) The parking on Friday was pretty chaotic. Streets leading to the parking lots were blocked off with cones. 2.) The PA system could have been a little louder. 3.) It would have been nice to have the team scores posted on the scoreboard periodically. As for Ticketmaster handling the admission tickets, it was much more difficult than the old system. Both days, I had to go through the "Help" function on the Ticketmaster app in order to bring up and view my tickets.
Parking: You can look at a map, which is helpful, but until you experience the first day( much busier), second day is much smoother. Very glad you corrected a problem by getting a scanner to the shot/discus areas!!! Thank you because pushing wheelchairs extra is a pain and if you parked far away extra walking does not make people happy. Thank you for all your hard work
Great experience! This was my first state track meet and my first trip to Jesse Owens Stadium. I was in awe of the facility and the organization of the events. Great Experience !
I received the rules for the facility. We brought empty clear water bottles, only to find the water fountains closed. The only option was the bathroom. The other restrictions were not followed either. There was no checking of anything. People were carrying in rolled blankets, stadium seats, large water bottles, and large bags. My suggestion is that if rules are supposedly enforced, you enforce them!!
