Ohio State Buckeyes Women’s Basketball History
The Ohio State Buckeyes women’s basketball team played their first season in 1965–66, finding independent success before joining the Big Ten in 1981. The team holds a conference-best 14 regular season Big Ten titles, as well as four conference tournament wins. Under coach Nancy Darsch, the Buckeyes reached the NCAA National Championship game in 1993, falling to Texas Tech, 84–82. Ohio State has notched 23 total March Madness appearances, and in 2023, the Buckeyes advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in 30 years. Kevin McGuff has served as head coach since 2013.

Ohio State Buckeyes at the Schottenstein Center
The Buckeyes play in the Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center (often shortened to the Schottenstein Center), which opened in 1998 and is the largest arena in the Big Ten, seating 19,500 for basketball. Appropriately, the school boasts a vocal, robust student fan base that cheers on the team in a section known as the Buckeye NutHouse.

OSU wins 113-61. The OSU women's team is big and physical. Ursuline is a small, NCAA Division II, women's college. The final outcome was not going to be in doubt at this exhibition game. But seriously, why did OSU feel it necessary to full court press the entire game? Really - it was the entire game - from opening tip to the final buzzer. The scrappy Ursuline team did an outstanding job getting the ball up court. Their problem was only being able to get off one shot, while the bigger OSU team controlled the boards. There was absolutely no reason to press the complete game, although OSU coaches will most likely claim it was for the "experience" in a game situation.
great game. I loved it very much. The girl # 14 is the best, 03 is excellent too.
Excellent seats at a great price. We had a great time.
Besides the great OSU women's victory over Iowa Saturday night, the entire evening was a great entertainment event. The pep band played (as well as some recorded funk during warmups), t-shirts were given away with every three-pointer made by OSU, mini-basketballs were shot up to the crowd during one time out and Tim Horton coupons and a grand prize were parachuted out of the rafters during another. This was our first time attending one of these games (the seats cost all of $8 apiece for the 8th row from the court), but it will certainly not be our last.
We enjoyed this game and are ready for next year. This is a young team and played really well. Look out next year. get your tickets early!

Took our daughter and her friend to see the Women's Basketball game 2-8-15. We had a blast.
This game had the largest attendance to date at above 7000 spectators. Great atmosphere with a vocal and energizing crowd! The Coaches and players have something going very special and they keep on improving toward their march to MARCH MADNESS!!! Fun game and the players played well!!!

lady basketball team has come a long way. with Cooper now playing the team is going to get better. we need Kalpana Beach back bad.
Overall, my son and I enjoyed ourselves at the game. My only complaint is the music, at times, is too loud and is almost painful to listen too.
We had a great time...went for my daughters 15th bday. It was great family fun! We want to go again!
Great team, great basketball program, great venue and great entertainment. A wonderful experience and value!
The game itself was awesome but we bought the 3pk ticket with the game ticket, tshirt & hotdog and never got the tshirt or hotdog. Apparently we were supposed to go to a certain section before the game to get them but there was nothing marked on the ticket or signage that said this. Our usher was very helpful and tried to help us find out where to get the Tshirts, etc. but we never did get them.
The facility was first class and beautiful. It was easy to find, the parking was great, And the staff and fans were wonderful. You have a good think going there,OSU.
