Of the Trees on Tour

Of the Trees is the musical project of producer and visual artist Tyler Coombs. Originally from Portland, Maine, and now based in Denver, Colorado, Coombs is gaining international acclaim and becoming known as one of the most innovative producers working in electronic music today.

Frequently mixing low-fi samples and electronic blips with sounds from nature such as bird calls, Of the Trees' tunes are both energizing and meditative at the same time. His acclaimed 2019 EP Tanglewood features soothing, down-tempo songs filled with innovative samples and mechanical and organic sounds that manage to sound like they perfectly belong together.

Of the Trees' ambitious 2022 full-length album, The Tale of Elegos, boasts elements of electronic, ambient and hip-hop music, also featuring guest vocalists and mesmerizing soundscapes. Once again, digital and natural elements sit comfortably alongside each other, making us wonder where one ends and the other begins.

Don't miss your chance to catch this mastermind in action when Of the Trees comes to a city near you.

Of the Trees Live in Concert

Electronic producer Of the Trees, born Tyler Coombs, began making music in the early 2010s. Although you might not be able to guess it from listening to his down-tempo electronic soundscapes, his love of music began with heavy metal when he was a kid. A friend taught him to play the guitar and introduced him to artists including System of a Down and Slipknot. Apparently he was so enamored with Norwegian black metal that he listed the names of his favorite black metal bands in the bio of his eighth-grade yearbook.

Coombs loved the lore and storytelling that surrounded a lot of his favorite heavy metal music, and he wanted to take those elements into the hip-hop and bass music he began creating.

Of the Trees gained notoriety in 2015 when Bassnectar released a remix of the tune "One Thing" also featuring Psymbionic and Christina Soto on his album Into the Sun. Since then, Of the Trees has been making a name for himself as an innovative and in-demand producer who's both creative and vulnerable in the way he expresses himself through his music and visuals onstage.

  • Production 🤌🏻 capitalism 👎🏻

by Allison on 1/26/25Fillmore Minneapolis presented by Affinity Plus - MinneapolisRating: 3 out of 5

The music and production were incredible. However, you know you’re overselling these events. Unless you’re in the corner of the room, you are packed in like sardines. It’s really selfish, and unevolved. The displeasure this experience brings is totally in the control of you, and most event throwers who can sell a sold out show don’t. Care. Please start.

  • Music is great, venue leaves room for improvement

by JP on 1/26/25Fillmore Minneapolis presented by Affinity Plus - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Having people wait for 1.5+ hours while music had started in 0-10 degree weather and needing to go through 2? metal detectors is a bit much. Floor was certainly oversold, it got better by the end of Of the Trees, but barely had room to move. I think the overall venue set up is fine, need to re-evaluate the get in situation as well as consider reducing tickets by 50-100

  • Buncha heaters

by Bleds on 11/26/24Hollywood Palladium - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Guy was chucking a bunch platinum bangers that got the people going. Hollywood palladium are a bunch of scammers tho, no water refill stations, no outside water at all, 7 dollars for water. They tried to double charge me twice

  • Save the Trees!

by FrogMan on 11/26/24Hollywood Palladium - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

Of the Trees was abruptly cut short from finishing due to the fact that the DJs in front of him took too much time. We paid to see Of the Trees and he was amazing. He gets all the stars. The production company needs to manage the time better! Less than all the stars for the mgmt co

  • REGARDING VIP: Not bad, but not great neither.

by Goose on 11/26/24Hollywood Palladium - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

The venue is amazing, and so is the VIP lounge. The performance was top tier so zero issues there. 10/10. VIP gets you access to a less crowded area with seating, it's own bars and bathrooms. Here's where it fell short: 1)No expedited entry, and no way of telling there wasn't any. The main perk of VIP is being able to avoid crowds and enjoy some breathing room and avoid all the anxieties. Having to wait in the long line already puts us in a mood. It would be nice if this were included in the ticket description because a lot of VIPs were confused on the line situation. 2) Close seating on the VIP balcony was blocked off and empty. There were a total of 3 people who had table service in a HUGE area. Yet it was blocked off. It kinda killed the vibe. I'd get table service, but it's very unclear as to how from the ticketing website. 3) Lack of vegan options. This is LA. It is very easy to source vegan food. Pretzels and popcorn aren't gonna cut it. People wait in line for hours, and they get understandably hungry. A vegan hotdog or chicken tenders would be a solid option. 4) VIP balcony isn't centered. This is not something I think can be fixed, but with a show that relied so heavily on visuals, this made it more difficult to enjoy the show. Watching the show from the side angle wasn't the best. In the past, it was perfectly fine. But this particular show relied on a straight ahead perspective. Thanks for listening!

  • Bad Sound by Venue

by JoshM on 11/25/24The Van Buren - PhoenixRating: 3 out of 5

The sound in the Venue was very sub par. They completely cut the bass and lowered the volume for the co-main, Detox Unit, to the point it was not an enjoyable listening experience. I tried to express the issue to the sound engineers and they gave me a negative response. I took my earplugs out for the set and I could hear others talking around me more than the music. Others around me in the venue reported the same thing. The sound for Of the Trees was better but still not loud. Earplugs were unnecessary for the event and you could not feel the low end sub bass throughout the venue. I have a better listening experience on my home sound system. Very unfortunate as Detox Unit doesn't come to Phoenix often and I was looking forward to a positive live listening experience.

the show was great the venue was beautiful. my only complaint is not enough information on what was allowed inside the venue

  • Not very hype for a dj.

by Aids on 4/2/24Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 1 out of 5

Was expecting alot more energy for the price I paid for the ticket. The whole crowd was dead and we ended up leaving early because we were so bored. Wouldn't see again. Dudes lucky the openers made up for it.

  • Freakfest @ City Museum St Louis

    by B Dubbs on 3/5/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Of The Tree is one of my favorite artists, so I was really looking forward to seeing him, and he killed it. My favorite part of Freakfest! The room in the building everyone was in was superrrr hot & miserable (little to no air flow), but he kept playing with no complaints! I would definitely go see him again, he seems like a genuinely great person so I’d love to support!
