Fun experience
by Abby on 8/21/23This concert was so entertaining and safe. The venue was sold out and that was definitely apparent, but that was to be expected.

Ocean Alley In Concert
A series of coastal towns and suburbs north of Sydney, Australia, the Northern Beaches offer some of the world's best surfing spots and most majestic beaches. It's not hard to hear the impact that these surroundings made on the music of Ocean Alley, six young friends who somehow managed to get away from the sand and sea long enough to discover a special musical kinship while jamming in a backyard shed. Their shared love of Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and Bob Marley led to the development of an unmistakably sun-kissed sound that marries the feel and scope of psychedelic rock to the pulse and warmth of reggae. Their devotion to Dire Straits means recent singles like "Bones" and "Confidence" have a sturdy foundation in classic '80s songcraft, too.
The new songs also make good on the promise displayed on Ocean Alley's first recordings. Reversing the title of Donovan's 1967 classic, the 2013 debut EP ‘Yellow Mellow' was an enthralling sign of things to come from the band, which consists of singer-guitarist Baden Donegal, guitarists Angus Goodwin and Mitch Galbraith, keyboardist Lach Galbraith, bassist Nic Blom, and drummer Tom O'Brien. Their inaugural set of international shows and their 2015 debut album ‘Lost Tropics' marked further leaps in maturity as their retro-leaning sound expanded to include elements of more contemporary peers like the War on Drugs and King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard. All the while, their relentless touring and mind-expanding live shows suggested that they were hardly as lazy as their most languid songs might suggest.
As the Top 10 success on the Australian charts for 2018's ‘Chiaroscuro' prompted sellouts, Ocean Alley's conquest of their home turf beyond their beloved Northern Beaches was complete. North American audiences seem destined to follow suit, especially now that the band have crossed many great expanses of land and water to play a series of supporting dates for their friend Tash Sultana.
This concert was so entertaining and safe. The venue was sold out and that was definitely apparent, but that was to be expected.
Was so good. Had a great time. Great band and great venue.
i had a great time at the concert. even though i went alone, the crowd and overall energy from the band made me feel so included. i usually frequent the fillmore, this was only my second time at the underground, but i enjoyed it very much! very similar vibe to the fillmore but a bit smaller. still had enough room to move and dance around!
Band was beyond great, could’ve been a little louder.
That show was the BEST show I went to this year!! Good vibes everywhere and the music sounded even better live!! Thanks for coming to North America bros
This is my second Ocean Alley concert that I’ve attended and they’re truly amazing. I’ve been to concerts where I leave disappointed but these guys right here are just talented individuals. They engage with the crowd and they keep the upbeat ambience going the entire show. Truly an excellent band and a memorable concert experience! THANK YOU OCEAN ALLEY
Very organized, wasn’t too crowded. Loved the up close and personal feel of the concert. Band was great!! Drinks were expensive, but to be expected. Overall great time!!
The concert was amazing! Make sure you bring a small bag to the venue, I didn't have an issue but another young lady did, her bag was slightly over and she couldn't bring it in. The ticket staff was EXTREMELY helpful, I was having issues pulling up my ticket but it took him no time at all to find it. The opening act was great and very energetic and Ocean Alley was AMAZING! They played a lot of their top hits. The only improvement would be I wish it went longer. They did do an oncore, but I selfishly wanted more. It was great.
So sick!!!! Been waiting for these guys to come stateside and they did not disappoint. Somehow sounded even better live than they do on their albums, everyone was hyped and they absolutely killed it with their set. Lighting and atmosphere was great so you really couldn’t ask for a better show. Hope they come back soon.
The concert was small and intimate but felt like it was an arena concert with the amount of energy. The venue itself was beautiful and timeless and the band was to die for. One of the next concerts I have been too!
I knocked over a wawa cup with my foot and I told the woman it was not find and she did not let me or my friend in. She wrote x on my hand and my night was ruined without a refund
I wish I could relive this night because it was hands down one of the best shows I’ve ever been too. I was absolutely blown away with Ocean Alley’s performance, they do their music justice in the best way possible. What an incredible night to remember.
Ocean Alley is one of my favorite bands, and it was awesome to see them live. When they initially came out, they were dragging a bit, but after a song or two they locked in. It was a fun show and it was especially cool that it was general admission. I was able to get close to the stage. The crowd was lively and vibing. I would definitely go see them again.
This was my first concert, and the overall vibe of everyone in the band and crowd was awesome. Had a great time, and will definitely see them again!
Best concert ever in an incredible venue. Ocean Alley was a great show that included amazing lighting, movements, and crowd inclusion. A1 performance by Ocean Alley
Ocean Alley is fantastic live. Highly recommend seeing their show!
Ocean Alley was an honor to see live. The show consisted of a small crowd, thankfully, so it was very intimate. My favorite songs 'Knees' and 'Baby Come Back' were played, so I was grateful for that! They used every instrument with purpose. Meeting them before the show was amazing as well.
LOVE. They were awesome. I had a great time. good vibes. good people
Ocean Alley has incredible music and their live show is amazing. I feel fortunate to have seen them live.
