This was my second year seeing Nut Remix, and it was magical! The show is truly representative of our modern Memphis! There is so much diversity, not only in terms of race, but also music and dance genres, as well as ages. The little mice and soldiers were simply adorable, and Jeremy Bowers was phenomenal as the Memphis Angel! I definitely recommend seeing the show, and I will continue to be a patron in the future!
I went there to see a friend of mine perform, and I was truly blown away by the level of skill and talent shown by all performers, even the adorable little mice!
The show was wonderful!!! My children enjoyed it, my Mother enjoyed it. It was a great rendition of the tradtional nutcracker! I thought it was masterfully choreographed to represent all the different cultures, with traditional ballet, modern, and hiphop dance. The live orchestra and childrens choir was magical!! I will definitely come again next year. Can't wait!!!
Nut Remix was a delightful show and the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. Beautiful dances and costumes, amazing performers, and just a ton of fun! We loved it!!
I absolutly love the mix of contempory and tradional dance and music. I loved the brilliance of Katies choreography so evident throughout the whole performance. She is truly raising many leaders. God bless all who gave their best.
NutRemix is absolutely phenomenal! I am so happy that the NBE is doing this awful show.
I've always been bored by the traditional Nutcracker, so I'm exceptionally grateful for Nut Remix, which is anything but boring! Little kids love it and so do adults, and there's a lot to love. I saw it last year, with L'il Buck playing the Spirit of Memphis, and swore I'd take at least one friend to see it this year, and I did, and he loved it (of course!). And this year, without L'il Buck, it was so different! The focus was on the Ensemble instead of on the celebrity, which I thought was a great thing. This year's Nutcracker was amazing, and the young women in the chorus did some incredible toe work. Some of the choreography was just stunning. Can't wait for next year!
The NutRemix is a must see. Jeremy Bowers was tremendous as the Angel of Peace. The Memphis Symphony Orchestra and LeMoyne-Owen singers brought such depth of musicality to the show. Unparalleled variety of dance, athleticism, and exquisite costumes. Bravo New Ballet Ensemble and School.
It was my first time attending this event, I thought the performers did an amazing job! I plan to attend this event annually going forth.

The show was amazing. The energy is contagious and the talent is incredible. The symphony shows its diversity playing all the different styles of music. Of course, Lil Buck is mesmerizing (how does he move like he does?!?) but the other forms of dance are equally impressive. I love seeing this year after year - and to think most of the cast are students. I can’t wait for next year!
This year's Nut Remix was yet another exhilarating performance of New Ballet Ensemble's unique expression of The Nutcracker. The production was exciting and engaging; the dancers of all ages were well prepared and entertaining; and it was a thrill to see Lil Buck's beguiling interpretations. It appears that Katie Smythe and her staff can work magic.
Love it added something new to this show and it related with our city and made it personal.
