Doors late to open Friday afternoon. Atmosphere died on Friday Afternoon
200 level seats are a bit crowded. The food lines were extraordinarily long. The entire event seemed disorganized, especially on Friday. As first time attendees at this event, the actual matches were quite interesting to say the least. Our granddaughter was one of the participants in this inaugural Girls Wrestling event. If she continues to wrestle, we would hope the NSAA would lengthen the number of days to encompass all the matches within a decent amount of time, and not into the night. The pageantry with all the recognition of non-students should be conducted at a different time.
We really enjoyed our 2 days there. There could have be food on Friday but we survived it. Had a room close by and the parking wasn’t too bad.
The fact that a $7 ticket ends up costing me nearly $15 is so wrong!! Then I get into the CHI and find there’s no concession stand open on my level so I go to the lower level and find extremely long lines. I’ve been going to the State tournament for over 30 years and this was the worst experience I’ve had.
The wrestling portion was great, NSAA did a great job. CHI center staff held up the show by not letting people in faster for the Friday night session which was not fair to spectators or fans. I blame security, OPD and event staff for this. Also who decided to have a volleyball tournament on Saturday the same day as finals? This was a terrible decision and added to the stress of parking and facilities. Not a good move on the event center for this considering they bid to have this tournament.
Arivial is mad chaos (waiting in line up to a hour), events running way late, either spread the event out one more day or split up the Classes more. Parking is a serious issue already - why is there 2 major events going on same day there? Very poor managment at CHI center. Omaha is not Centrally located for Nebraska schools, Seriously concider moving at least ClassesB, C and D to Central Nebraska. I love the event, Omaha, not so much.
The time in between sessions on Friday was an absolute nightmare. This needed to be handled differently. There was no organization so after waiting in line for over an hour, people were coming in the side doors and crowding into the line with people who had been standing in line for a long time.
I had a blast. The environment was sooo exciting and I loved every minute of it!
We had not experienced a State event in sports....It was a FUN EXPERIENCE!!!
I thought it was as clean and overall well run. The parking was not good and there wasn't enough concession stands open and items were sold out.
We’ve been attending for years. It was awesome to see Girls Wrestling sanctioned and share the stage with the Boys. The wrestling was amazing, always great to watch. The announcers and referees were great. The Parade of Champions & the show stopping Championship rounds were phenomenal. The mask mandate ended, we were able to sit with our school, teammates, friends and family- finally a return to normal.
I was at first nervous that we didn’t get tickets right away to the event. However I felt that the upper bowl Side sections were phenomenal view of all of the mats! We sat in 206 for most of the event, and then 228 for Friday nights event, which I don’t recommend you feel squished.
Fridays evening session was a nightmare to get into.
Couldn't get tickets for family to see the heartbreak round or championship rounds. Tickets were allowed to be bought by scalpers, 100% unavailble on ticketmaster & price increased from $13-14/ticket to $55-$147/ticket. Regulation by the NSAA is needed. These are high school kids, not a concert & a multiple session (tickets) event. Your child could possibley be in 4 different sessions & at $55 per ticket x 2 (each parent) x 4 =$440 is ridiculous. This doesn't include siblings, grandparents. So sad we couldn't have family attend when my child worked so hard to make it to State.
Perfect place for an event like this. Air temp good, lots of bathrooms. Needed more concessions and eliminate the ask for tips when buying a $5 water.
I only had one issue. A friend transferred 2 tickets to me, we didn’t need so we tried to transfer back to her. It wouldn’t let her except it. Then when we tried to get into the event with those tickets on my phone it said the tickets where invalid. We basically lost out on 2 tickets. Perhaps it states somewhere you can only transfer once?
They need to go back to the old buy your ticket at the gate. Having to buy them on Ticketmaster sucks. It cost the customer more money and they jam up and slow down the lines having to get them scanned. Half the time they don’t scan so they let you through the gate anyway. You could get in with your first session ticket on any sessions. Need to bring back cash at concession stand. Credit card slowdown the time between customers. More workers at concession stand I sat in line way to long and missed a lot of wrestlers matches. Overall I would say it sucked!!!
Enjoyed the event. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The tickets are per "session'. With multiple sessions per day. You can't know which session(s) your wrestler will end up in. Even if you have multiple sessions bought then they march everyone out and make tgem go through the check-in process all over again. The most ridiculous money grab ever.
But on Saturday night stand in line for a hour cause all the doors open and people just walking in not going back to the line. When a school buys tickets early have them closer to the school like a,b,c,d area and give them the closer to the mat and keep them if can in the same seats.
