So, kicking around the emptiness of losing my brother in 2020, I found Nothing But Thieves. Then my sister passed this June- and all I wanted in the world to help me through this was to see this band.
I’ve done artist promo for a couple decades. My grandfather was Ray Eberle, lead vocalist for Glenn Miller and his orchestra.
I have something to say about Conor Mason. His vocals are the most honest interpretation of pain and hope I’ve heard. His October 3rd performance at House of Blues was much more than giving Carlos the night off…studio quality vocals and instruments in an intimate sound-proof venue. Courteous crowd engagement that was more of a grateful strobe than what tech crew set up (that’s saying a lot, I nearly seized during ‘Futureproof’).
Cons: Section 200: it was hard to see much from our seats due to another concert goer getting up to twerk and nearly tip the drink she held over the security railing numerous times. But that’s a civil issue, not a venue or ticket retailer one.
For a couple of hours, I knew no pain. My God, how do I thank them for that? Don’t stay away so long this time, guys.
