My first ballet and I'm sixty-two years old! I have to say it was more than I expected! The lead characters were superb and a credit to their craft, not to mention the other cast members. i enjoyed the ballet and look forward to the next one! Let's not forget the orchestra!

NE Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker is Great

by IzzyV on 11/27/12Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

The show was really good, this was my third time seeing this with the NE Atlanta Ballet and I really liked it. I have been taking my daughter since 2007 and it is always a good time, especially for children. It is a great event if you love the Nutcracker but don't want to pay $100 to see it downtown, or fight traffic and long lines. The venue couldn't be more perfect, quaint but really classy. There were a few uh-oh moments with the smaller children in the show which took away from the professionalism a bit, but my daughter loved it and so did I, perfect was to transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

    Good Performance at Affordabel Prices

by PaulaG123 on 11/27/12Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

It is a family tradition for me to take my daughter and granddaughter to The Nutcracker. This year we attended the version done by the Northeast Atlanta Ballet. The performance was well done and the scenery and costumes were very nice. The theater is child friendly and we are already planning for next year. The design of the theater is awesome and I don't believe there is a bad seat in the place.

    Fabulous performance

by jdhwsp4me on 11/26/12Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

This performance was absolutely fabulous. Frankly, I was not expecting anything equal to the Atlanta Ballet's "Nutcracker", but it turned out just as wonderful! The scenery, costumes and music were very high quality. The artists were very professional. Loved all the children and the fact that this performance had a live orchestra. I would recommend it to anyone that wanted to see a performance of this beloved ballet.

    Great performance and great seats

by suwaneemom02 on 11/26/12Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

The most that I was impressed with are their costumes and stage design. I was not seating up in the front but the theater itself was good in size which allow all to truly enjoy the show. I do think they should shorten the beginning of the show where you have the street view with people walking and slipping. I thought that was a little big long though I understood the idea behind it.

    Nutcracker

by CindyPM on 11/26/12Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

a very family friendly event, definitely take the kids to this one. If you can't make the classic NYC ballet 's Nutcracker, this is a good substitute to get you in the holiday mood!

    Interesting to say the least

by AshleeApplewhite on 11/25/12Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

When I intentionally purchased this event, I thought it would be teenagers and adults only performing. It was several kids 13 and under who were throughout the entire play. It was a nice event, and humorous to even watch kids who were under 5 performing in it. The play overall was delightful, although this what seemed to be 2 year old kept making noise and the parent could not control their child good enough. Other than that, I liked it.. would I go to this same play again, probably not. It was $25 per ticket, I got 2 with the insurance.. Overall I paid around $60 to attend this event

    Can't wait to hear it

by ViolinMusicMan on 11/14/12Gwinnett Center Performance Center - Duluth

I am looking forward to hearing this year's performance!! If it is anything like last years, it will be GREAT!! The symphony director, Robert, does a masterful job in coordinating and conducting, culminating in a wonderful performance!!

Great Performance by the Northeast Atlanta Ballet

by RCWB on 11/28/11Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

I thought the students did an excellent job performing each of their parts. I took my kindergartener in hopes to inspire her to perform and enjoy ballet. She loved it! She also enjoyed seeing some of her teachers perform on stage.

    Good effort & creative interpretation

by Gu3mom on 5/24/11Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

The costumes and casting (overall) were excellent as were set design and lighting. The dancers were well rehearsed and performed a skilled and fun show. The first couple of acts didn't mesh particularly well with the actual show topic but the dancing was still very good. (The air conditioning was running full blast and was a bit too cool for comfort.)

    great theater for small kids

by juka on 11/30/10Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

Gwinnett Performing Arts Center is a great theater to take small kids to. We were in the 2nd row of the balcony, any my 4 year old had no trouble seeing everything that went on, on stage. The Northeast Atlanta Ballet is great for small kids as well. It was a fun, kid-friendly performance-- not "professional" level, but for kids, it was a great performance for the price.

    nutcracker

by TJ1275 on 11/29/10Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

My family and i went to see the play "Nutcracker." My purpose was for a school project. The theatre was nice and cozy. The play itself was very good. I really enjoyed Act II, it was a little more upbeat and so was the music. The play was colorful, and i thought the kids did a great job.

    Great Diverse Show!!

by SimmieB on 11/29/10Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

I really enjoyed this presentation of the Nutcracker. This was my third time seeing the Nutcracker, after vowing never again. My 4 y.o. daughter begged to see the show, so I purposely picked the cheapest show I could find in the Atlanta area. The show did not disappoint. It lacked some of the more ornate costumes from other more expensive companies, but definitely made up in the technique and diversity of the cast. This was the most diverse cast I have ever seen. I really enjoyed seeing so many non-white dancers, and some in leading roles. Keep it up!!!

Very well done. Great costumes. some very good dancers Kids appreciate being able to eat in theatre. **** They should not allow late seating. Some of the patrons were very rude.
