Loved the format of one band and artists rotating throughout the evening. Jonathan Butler and Alex Bugnon were equally as awesome! Opening band was Great! Love to see local artists touring with nationally recognized bands. Shout out to bass player Chris Ellis with Marcus Anderson band.

  • Too short

by Lanair on 7/1/14Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

Although all acts were good they were too short. Only two songs each performer. The local opening act was phenomenal, Marcus Anderson. He played for at least an hour. The should have left him on he and his band were amazing. Not bad given the price of the tickets but we paid to see Norman, Alex and Johnathan. Also why no red wine at the concession bar? They have white wine I don't understand how you can possibly not have red wine. Also there was a prediction of rain But we weren't allowed to bring in umbrellas. We had seats in the second row but the chairs were dirty so when we sat down the back of our light colored summer clothes were filthy. Lesson learned we will bring wipes for the chair next time. And if you were sitting on the grass you weren't allowed to bring in your blankets or a chair. Kind of sucks. It is allowed at koko booth theater in Cary. You need\want something to sit on. GIVE US A BREAK! but all up all in, once you know all of the things you can prepare accordingly and have a good time.

The concert was outstanding. I could not have ask for a better event to watch in an amphitheater. The opening show with Marcus Anderson was superb. Alex, Norman and Jonathan was off the chain. Can hardly wait to see them perform together again

this was my first visit to red hat amp. I really enjoyed the show. the seating was awesome and I was quite comfortable. I liked the fact that the restrooms are easily assessable and the drink vendors were on both sides. the weather was wonderful and it was a no hassle parking to get in and get out and walk over to the venue. I will be attending more events at red hat amp.

  • Short Jazz Show

    by Jazzlady23 on 7/1/14Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

It was a great show;however, it seemed rushed and shorter than the normal shows. I expected Jonathan Butler do some of his gospel songs. Great performance.

Seen Norman Brown along with Jonathan Butler and Alex Bugnon, show was outstanding. This is not my 1st time seeing them as they always are consistent with delivering a great show. Definitely go check them out at a city near you.

by RaleighNormanBrownFan on 7/1/14Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

We've seen Norman Brown in concert in Charlotte, NC, and he was great. This show, with Jonathan Butler and Alex Bugnon was even better! It was a perfect night: great seats, cool breezes, no rain, and great jazz.

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!

    by kwp217 on 7/1/14Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best concert I've been too in years. The weather was great and the music was crazy good! The chemistry between Norman Brown, Jonathan Butler, and Alex Bugnon was electrifying. This was my first time in the Red Hat Amphitheater and I was highly impressed. Well don Raleigh! The sound was great and not overbearing, and I was on the front row! The seats were also comfortable, and this is coming from a BIG guy. I will definitely be going to other concerts at RHA.

  • Jazz Concert

by SeaTacGirl on 7/1/14Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time attending an event at the Redhat Amphitheater, absolutely loved it. Being from the Pacific Northwest where Smooth Jazz is a popular music genre made feel like I was in Seattle/Tacoma again. The venue is great but I have some suggestions. Firstly, at a jazz concert you will never encounter a rowdy crowd. Smooth jazz listeners for the most part are middle-aged, well established, and go to listen to the music and that it. In fact, a single woman can attend a jazz concert without feeling intimidated. With that being said, I believe you would even get a large crowd if you allow concert goings to 1. bring in own food in picket baskets, 2. allow lawn chairs and umbrellas, and finally 3. Offer whole bottles of wine at a reasonable price Back home I would attend the smooth jazz concert every year. There was never an issue with the crowd. Future performers I would to see at Redhat are as follows: Rachelle Ferrell, Brian Culbertson, Euge Groove, Gerald Albright, Lalah Hathaway, Natalie Cole,
