Jazz Concert
by SeaTacGirl on 7/1/14Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5This was my first time attending an event at the Redhat Amphitheater, absolutely loved it. Being from the Pacific Northwest where Smooth Jazz is a popular music genre made feel like I was in Seattle/Tacoma again.
The venue is great but I have some suggestions. Firstly, at a jazz concert you will never encounter a rowdy crowd. Smooth jazz listeners for the most part are middle-aged, well established, and go to listen to the music and that it. In fact, a single woman can attend a jazz concert without feeling intimidated. With that being said, I believe you would even get a large crowd if you allow concert goings to 1. bring in own food in picket baskets, 2. allow lawn chairs and umbrellas, and finally 3. Offer whole bottles of wine at a reasonable price
Back home I would attend the smooth jazz concert every year. There was never an issue with the crowd.
Future performers I would to see at Redhat are as follows: Rachelle Ferrell, Brian Culbertson, Euge Groove, Gerald Albright, Lalah Hathaway, Natalie Cole,
