Did I expect to need tissues to watch the nutcracker this year? Absolutely not. Did me and my husband need tissues? Yes!! The show was absolutely beautiful and heart warming. It was so inspiring to see so much talent on a stage and to be surrounded with an audience equally in awe of such a wonderful performance after these difficult times. 10 out of 10 stars! Can’t wait to see Swan Lake in May!
Just as good as i remember freom when i first saw the ballet during my sophomore year of high school. I will definitely go and see again next year and try to see it every year if possible. A classic that will never get old

My adult daughter, taking a break from LSU School of Nursing, and I had a fantastic afternoon at The Nutcracker Ballet in the Orpheum Theater. The set design was breathtaking from the first pull of the curtain. The dancers were professional and elegant; to include the smallest of children performers. The New Orleans Ballet is a treasure for the city of New Orleans and must be supported by all. Thank you ballet dancers for the lovely afternoon and for the audience whom brought their very well behaved children to the Theater. Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season
My granddaughter Claire was the Cherub last year and the Apple mouse this year we are truly so proud of her but the entire cast do an amazing job! It was a first time visit for my niece... she went home and danced all night! The seating is good throughout and the parking is excellent which always surprises us!! Looking forward to next year!!
The venue was gorgeous and the performers flawless! This was my first time attending a ballet and it lived up to my expectations!
The lead dancers were elegant and talented. The kids were cute and got quite a few laughs. Production value high. The audience was enthusiastic in their loud applause and whistles - definitely not the sophistication you would see in haughty locales. But that made it all the more fun. Support our local ballet. Great things coming!
This is the third time I have seen this ballet presented by The New Orleans Ballet Theater. I have enjoyed every single performance immensely. This year there seemed to be fresh sets and costumes, which were more colorful. The dancers were all quite talented and, as always the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy was my favorite. The only reason for four vs. five stars was the problems experienced with the audio. Unfortunately the music is recorded and not live, and there were issues with the speakers toward the end of the second act. I really wish they could have an orchestra, even a high school or college orchestra. Until next year!
Three stars. Ouch. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but this is The Orpheum Theater, not some outlying parish’s “performance hall”. We immediately noticed how (uncomfortably) warm it felt inside, which is odd for a theater, of course. No orchestra? Disappointing enough. Then, the speakers were going in and out continuously throughout the show, which was rather distracting. The performers were very professional and gave the appearance of letting the poor sound quality go unnoticed. I would give them 4 stars, independent of the venue. A generous 2 stars to the strictly aesthetically pleasing Orpheum, which brings us to 3 overall.

This was my first time seeing The Nutcracker. It was great. The seats at the Houma Civic Center were very uncomfortable which made it hard to sit for a long time.
It was a wonderful show and very well done. The performers were fantastic and it was a wonderful way to kick off the Christmas season!
The show was amazing. The music and the dancers were all so professional. I loved that they also recruited local dancers to be a part of the show. I was a wonderful show and great entertainment for children!
