  • Needed improvement

    by Buzzy62 on 3/13/25Mid-America Center - Council BluffsRating: 3 out of 5

Everything on the first day ran smooth. It was the second day that pretty much sucked the championship round especially understandable that you had the invitational for the women there but you could’ve had two stages set up ran both weight classes and like any other tournament that I’ve been to example when the first weight class run the second weight class and distributed the awards for the first Waite class understandable you want all the all Americans to be there but when you start at 8 o’clock in the morning and run all the way through until almost 10:30 11 o’clock at night and most athletes are physically and mentally exhausted and to receive a medallion that’s smaller than a silver dollar was kind of a disappointed evening little bit more rewarded to the all Americans that battled their butts off to get where they are at even though it is a junior college event. The PIAA metals that are given from first place all the way down to eighth place are much larger than the metals that were given to these athletes. Something should be hung around their neck, not given to them in a box. This may be the kids only national event if some of them don’t move on to a D2 D3, possibly a D1 or an NAIA college, my opinion, and you asked for it. Thank you for your time David Gorring.

  • Excellent tournament

    by R and J on 3/12/25Mid-America Center - Council BluffsRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent location, excellent facility, places to stay and eat within walking distance. airport nearby. Every session was very well run, kept things moving. The only recommendation we may have is presentation of the awards, they need to seek ways to make that go quicker. Some suggestions: They had 2 podiums but have one podium being recognized ready to go as soon as recognition of wrestlers on the previous podium completed, so there is no interruption of wrestlers getting on the podium Hand out the Tshirts as they get on the podium so they aren't taking time to hand them out I am sure there are some other ways they could expediate the award process. Over all it was very well run an amazing event!!

  • How they seat the wrestlers

    by G1 on 3/11/25Mid-America Center - Council BluffsRating: 2 out of 5

Seating the participants should not be the luck of the draw… that is and incredible asinine way to seat the wrestlers. It should always be according to the wrestlers record. That is what the wrestlers strive for. Having a strong record should be the basis of the seating process. Not throwing all the participants names in a drawing and anything goes. That doesn’t even make sense.
