Great show, great music, great venue and a enthusiastic crowd...fun time for all!!
These guys were epic! They put on such a good show...better than I expected - and my expectations were already high!! The set list was a perfect representation of Pink Floyd's early repertoire. They were interactive with the audience and genuinely enjoyed performing. I can't wait to see them again!!
Good concert, music wise 5 stars, but at $135 a seat, one star for Ticket&*$ster monopolist, such a rip-off!
Outstanding show, great set list. Enthusiastic fans. Only good things to say.
Thank you Nick & Band for reviving those early PF songs giving them new life, rockin’ hard, and sending me to space! The guitar work in this show was stupendous; David & Roger not needed. BTW, I saw Roger’s big show a couple weeks earlier which had poor sound because it was the Chase Center. This show had bright, clear, loud sound without arena reverb.
The band was so accomplished, and sounded fantastic. Fox theater Oakland added more seats on floor than other shows, and set up of chairs was not at all like the map I ordered these seats from. We were disappointed in the seats and felt we were mislead, and would avoid attending shows there, as in the Bay Area we have so many choices for venues and entertainment
In short, very precise and thoughtful show. They all are very sharp still.
Nick and his band had a great time on stage and the audience was rewarded with a great experience. The crowd around me even stood up and rocked out at times ;) I want to thank the great staff at the Fox, you all make the theater shine and fun flow. I always tell my very young coworkers the Fox is the best music venue in the Bay Area. I hope to be back soon.
First of all, the website listed "Smoke Roasted Jackfruit - Tri-Color Peppers / Onion" but when I ordered they said that item have not been on the menu for a long time! That was a disappointment! So I ordered a pulled-pork sandwich. Again according to the menu online "All Orders come with Garlic Bread & Choice of Seasonal Side Salad or Cajun Potato Salad". There was no garlic bread, just a tiny piece of spongy tasteless white bread. And pulled pork? Does a chunk of pork 3 inches long qualify? There were some other smaller pieces, very little though. And I did not discover that they didn't put a cover on the little cup of BBQ sauce until it spilled out all over the bar making a sticky mess. At this point, I threw the disgusting slop in the trash and had to wait to get the bartenders attention to clean the bar so other patrons wouldn't accidentally touch the now-sticky bar. Concert great! Theater great! Food is a sucky rip-off!
The music sound quality was outstanding, not to loud but you could hear every note. The engineers knew what they were doing. The band members look like they were having a lot of fun. The band was very ambitious playing songs like "Echo's", and "Set the controls for the heart of the Sun", and pulled if off quite well. I will most definitely see them again when they return! Thank you Mr. Mason. 😎🎸
The venue was great bringing you back to the 60’s. For me it brought back a lot of great memories. I’ve been an avid fan of Pink Floyd and seen many of their concerts. I believe my first PF concert was at SF Winterland. Have some great pictures. Their shows just kept getting bigger & more outrageous. I really enjoyed all the first songs from their early albums. I’m really glad I still have them. Nick Masons tour was so worth seeing. A lot of fun.
This is the show to go to if you like Pink Floyd’s older catalog. I was delighted with their renditions of songs off their outstanding Meddle album, as well as rare cuts that you would never hear at a Roger Waters or David Gilmore show. The Fox, which is always a great venue, had chairs set up throughout so you didn’t have to stand near the stage. I especially loved the psychedelic videos that screened behind the band. Excellent sound system, friendly bartenders, and Nick Mason was very articulate and shared a lot of memories of his time in the Bay Area. Great show!
Loved this show!! They did an amazing job playing all pre-Darkside songs. Would have paid just to see Echoes but so many other great songs from the early albums. What a great idea to play these songs that are rarely heard in concert. A great tribute to Syd as well.
what a great show!!! nick mason and his band know these early pink floyd songs inside and out but they are not content with just playing them. instead, they give these songs a fresh yet classic sound that captures the timelessness of the songs while making them sound contemporary and relevant almost 60 years later. the musicians are first rate and play well together, plus you can tell they are enjoying themselves. it was so great to hear classics like echoes, one of these days and other songs live and in the flesh. nick please bring your band back soon!!!
The quality of the guitar playing was barely above mediocre, but they tried to cover that by just turning the volume WAY up. It was just painfully too loud. The better vocals were recorded, so, umm not exactly an amazing live performance. The best part of the show was the story telling from Nick Mason. But the music was so weak and it was so loud that we left early. Very disappointing.
We arrived ready and excited to hear some classic Floyd tunes and the show did not disappoint. Getting into the venue and navigating to our seat was easy and were comfortable overall. The staff was friendly and the show itself was amazing and satisfying! Our only negatives were the packed "smoking section" (seriously - is this even legal with fire codes on the number of people in this small space?) and the lackluster merchandise options offered by the band. Overall - would definitely attend again.
It was a nostalgic trip back in time; the musicianship was exceptional, with polish and charisma.
Loved the show. The often overlooked early years never sounded better. Great musicians that really fleshed out the sound while remaining true to the records. Don't miss it.
It was a special night with Nick Mason and great musicians in a great venue too. It was easy to get in, get drinks and the sounded really clear from my seat. Great performance of sounds that I listened to all my life.
This was the best concert I have seen in many years. I love the early Pink Floyd and Nick and his excellent band played for hours with a 20 minute intermission in the middle. He only played Pink Floyd songs the were released prior to Dark Side of the Moon and they were performed even better than the studio versions, which is what you want from a live show. Nick Mason IS Pink Floyd.
