    Howzat!!

by RelativeWork on 5/24/10Central Broward Regional Park - Lauderhill

SInce moving here in '97 I haven't had the ability to see a live international let alone one being played by my home country. It was a real treat to go watch the game and I was very impressed with the facility Lauderhill has built.

    Average Game of Cricket

by Anonymous on 5/23/10Central Broward Regional Park - Lauderhill

Superb facility. Great security/staff. But the actual pitch was sort of pathetic for a T20 game. They needed to prepare more of a batsmen friendly track because that was the only way it would have attracted the crowd. Scores of 120 or lower than that in T20 will not promote for games in the future for the US. New spectators will not come to watch low scoring encounters. Overall, props to the NZ cricket board and SL board for sending teams. Poor effort from USACA for their pitch preparations.

    2010 Pearls Cricket Cup

by raysha on 5/23/10Central Broward Regional Park - Lauderhill

First off all it was a good feeling to know that I only had to travel 47 miles as opposed to 1500 or more miles to see a cricket game of this caliber. The grounds were in excellent condition, the seating was comfortable and the stands were clean. i personally think whoever did not go to see this historical ocassion, missed out big time. The few negatives I have are that the announcer should have been more professional and he should have announced each player who came on to bowl. The music was also a bit too loud and sometimes uncalled for. A couple of other negatives are patrons should be allowed to exit from any exit in the stadium after the game as ithis would have eased up the haevy flow from the main entrance/exit. After the game it took a long time for security to open an additional exit for cars to leave and this was frustrating. Other than this I surely look forward to a next ICC 20/20 series to come to our shores in the near future.

Officer/Guard should guide in Medical issues.

by RAMBO1969 on 5/23/10Central Broward Regional Park - Lauderhill

I will suggest having a medical team available for anyone who might need medical assistance. We had a little medical issue for which I walk with medication in my vehicle. I was never told I could not go back to my vehicle during the one hour break between games. I was told that I cannot bring bottle and bags in the facility. I spoke to an Officer/Guard at the Entrance/Exit to let me out to go and get my son's medicine and the guard refused to let out. Instead, the officer/guard (P. Hackensaw or maybe Hackman is his name) said, "just for making a stupid line like that, I should just throw you out". I had my son with me at that time when the officer said that. I offered to call the Pharmacist to comfirm my son's medication and the officer laugh at me. The officer did do not offer to help me or guide me in anyway to get my son his medicine. I will be looking into making a formal complaint against this officer to prevent any real die hard emergency in the future. I also witness a guy walking around selling beers asking for tips in an aggressive way. I do hope the people who are responsible for this event can use these issues to better facilitate the customers that need help and train the workers that they are there to work (to provide a service) not to harrass the customers for tips etc. I live in Ocoee (next to Orlando, Flroida) and will still attend other events with my son in the future. Thank you for your help.

    Pearl Cricket Tournament Florida

by JahFL on 5/23/10Central Broward Regional Park - Lauderhill

Good venue - great opportunity for international cricket Prices need to be kept reasonable (concessions, game tickets) to first build support for cricket tournaments. Organizers should not get greedy from get go. Pitch needs work

    BANG FOR THE BUCKS

by PianoGenie on 5/23/10Central Broward Regional Park - Lauderhill

I purchased the ticket for my husband who is a former amateur cricket player and avid fan. He enjoyed the games but was unimpressed with the food provided in the tent. His overall opinion was that it was not worth the extra money, however, he would centainly attend any future matches played at the Regional Park. He liked the facility and thought I would enjoy going next time as well.

    International Cricket

by LozC on 5/23/10Central Broward Regional Park - Lauderhill

Great event - good stadium and facilities. Fantastic intercultural gathering. Organizing committee may need to better understand the "cricket mentality" - the list of rules for crowd conduct (no noise makers!! despite the booming speakers, drumming band and cheer leaders to name but a few) and restricting the taking in of your own soft drinks and food may make this a prohibitively priced day for many families and lose the essence of what a cricket crowd is all about. The stewards needed a bit of education about how to make it a successful day for the crowd. Great cricket from New Zealand and Sri Lanka some fantastic fielding and great catches taken. Brilliant diving catch by McCullum in the deep.
