This was an amazing show. The first time I have seen one of their performances, and the whole family enjoyed it. Great music, great fun, and great theater. I can't wait for their next event!

The feeling of unity was incredible

by Happy11201 on 12/18/13Town Hall - New York

I enjoyed the entire show. The videos from abroad cemented the feeling of unity that came over me---knowing that there were and are many shared life experiences with the chorus and the family in the theater and other countries gave me a tremendous life feeling of being totally acceptable.

    Left At Intermission

by SceneBetter on 12/18/13Town Hall - New York

They played videos. I can stay at home to watch YouTube. Next time, I will. And, the songs were slow and boring. It really was very boring. I saw others leave at intermission as well. Sorry, but this was a total waste of money and time.

Gay men's choir was done beautiful.

by Linnur45 on 12/23/12Town Hall - New York

The men were talented and the concert was moving . It was beautifully executed. I wish there was more of Judy Collins.

    GMChorus was inspiring

by holly4 on 12/18/12Town Hall - New York

What a show. This was a first for us and it made me want to go out and find a singing group to just SING. The men are so talented and they created harmony amidst a variety of really wonderful music. The selections of music were lively as well as inspiring. The show was alot of fun-a great holiday treat.

Second time and not the last

by slimleo on 12/18/12Town Hall - New York

We saw the Gay Men's Chorus Holiday show in 2010 and were excited to come back this year, especially because Judy Collins was featured. They did not disappoint and staged a professional, fun, wonderful show. My only criticism was our seats (see below).

    Beautiful voices - Beautiful Music

by keduck on 12/18/12Town Hall - New York

I had never heard all all male voices chorus before, and it was one of the most stunningly beautiful sounds I have ever heard. The concert was well done. Lovely theater, lovely music. The dedication and preparation these handsome gentlemen have towards their musical craft was evident in the the perfect execution, tinged with the right amount of fun and silliness to make it an evening to enjoy.

Great performance on a too small stage and with the best seats which turned out to be uncomfortable (too tight & no leg room), and offered no view of the stage! The stage is too small for this group.

    Sunday matinee

by MacRay on 12/21/11Town Hall - New York

Knowing a member of the chorus, we enjoyed the performance as a whole, the music, singing and acting was excellent. People who are professionals can be excused as this is their livelihood, there was also a number of amateurs who also performed wonderfully

    Holiday cheer...but a few jeers

by Avenger1962 on 12/20/11Town Hall - New York

The Chorus was great! However, the performance dragged on for nearly 2 1/2 hours. Has no one thought of editing a performance to make it more palatable to the audience. From a slow Om Shanti start to vignettes featuring animal characters (monkey?!) to a solemn drag Virgin Mary (Oh Mary, pahlease!), it seemed like the only thing missing was a kitchen sink. Fortunately the beautiful sounds of the Chorus prevented me from going postal...though it crossed my mind...holiday cheer, indeed!

    Wonderful and fun

by JO998775 on 12/20/11Town Hall - New York

I had a great time at their show. They got the audience involved and created a real feeling of togetherness and "coziness." Guest star Lillias White was amazing, but I have to say, her songs weren't really my favorites. My favorite songs were the little drummer boy song - the hand drums were fantastic and the little animals were cute/funny. Percussion all night was really impressive. I also really liked the gospelly feel of the night - lots of clapping and upbeat songs. Love that they Included songs I remember enjoying in Sister Act. Most of their soloists were fabulous but maybe 1 or 2 got a little out there in some parts. Also maybe went on a little long at the end but I did like how they came out into the audience to sing. Overall a wonderful night. Very happy I went and plan on coming back again for their X-mas show next year and/or their Big Gay Sing 4. The dancers and elves had great spirit and really made the night!

Only flaw was John Barrett coming down with a cold and not being up there, adding to your full, technically proficient sound! As usual, the comedy numbers worked. This year I got clearer about your larger mission. Good for you! Keep up the good work

    NYCGMC has lost its way

by KurtJames on 12/21/10Town Hall - New York

Liz Callaway was terrific, both in her singing and general stage presence. Unfortunately, the Chorus did not match her. Songs were poorly arranged, monotone with a lack of hamonies and dynamics. Songs were too often poorly sung, entrances were not crisp, cut offs at ends of phrases and the ends of pieces were not together. Lyrics were sometimes unintelligible. Especially musically disappointing were the Hodie, Gloria and the Hallelujah Chorus. The signing of Silent Night was heartfelt, although the unfamiliar musical arrangement not to my taste. Other choralography of hand motions was well done and pleased the audience, and the carol singalong fun. Ms Callaway led the Chorus in a rousing finale of Joy to the World.
