What a wonderful evening of music at “The Basie” in Red Bank with the superb sold-out performance of Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”! The NJSO is such a wonderful treat every time we see them! Bravo!

    Great venue, great performances

by Jlselse on 1/16/24Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

The Count Basie is much swankier than it used to be, if you haven't been there in recent years. And the NJSO is strong and the performance of Pictures at an Exhibition was terrific.

    Joshua Bell: Three Ways!

by RosemaryA on 12/3/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

NJSO and Joshua Bell -- perfect together. Great opportunity to see master violinist Joshua Bell performing with, soloing and conducting in one concert. NJSO beautiful performance with several shining stars in woodwind, percussion and large strings. The afternoon concert was a sell-out; a good way to spend an afternoon. There are several other afternoon performances this season -- get a ticket while you still can! I do not believe there is a bad seat in this most beautiful hall.

Jurassac Park - a wonderful experience

by HockeyGeek on 11/1/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

I enjoyed the combination of an exciting movie with the music generated from a live orchestra. The one difficulty I had was with the subtitles. It was hard to read the text whenever the film background was light. Unfortunately, this took away from the flow of the story. Otherwise, I found the show to be quite entertaining.

    Wonderful family concert

by Phoebe on 5/16/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

We enjoyed the laidback family friendly atmosphere and the show that was fun for our whole family with kids ages 0-12. We hope NJPAC will revisit the Bollywood theme!

Good but could have been Great

by MFAB on 2/28/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

The NJ Symphony always play fantastic. This review is not for them but for the selections they played. People came to hear familiar music of John Williams, not music from movies that were not popular. The best thing about the entire night was the 1 song they played after the curtain call, Indiana Jones theme. The next time NJ PAC advertises something like this they should include the contents. I may have stayed home knowing what was in the program. Fortunately for me, they play the song I enjoyed the most from John Williams, Indiana Jones.

    Worth Every Penny...

by Russ on 2/28/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

The NJ Symphony delivers the goods with The Best of John Williams. It's worth every penny and we had a great conductor that engaged the audience. The NJPAC is a good bang of the buck venue. Parking is conveniently located right across the street. Yes, snacks and beverages are expensive...but, you've got to keep the lights on. The Nico restaurant has good eats. Eat before the show. It's the only restaurant and it closes as soon as the performance begins at 8PM. After that its chips or snickers bars! The music camp performance by the younger musicians was a pleasant value add. My only criticism is the people: Some over dress (suits and fur coats), some under dress (jeans and baseball caps). Perhaps a "Business Casual" disclaimer when buying tickets? Overall, its a great family night or date night.

    Jaws, concert version

by Tom on 11/2/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

What can I tell you? Jaws is on my top ten list, and hearing the fabulous NJ Symphony made it a surreal experience! But I must add a note -- every one of the staff members at NJPAC were super! Friendly, courteous, helpful -- just lovely people. Kudos to them! And congratulations on a fantastic presentation!

    Jaws in Concert

by Kansas Kid on 11/1/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Great melding of orchestra and film. The legendary film score brought to life. Jaws, has been seen numerous times, but with Live Symphony was a treat. Better than the 3D version that was shown over the Summer. NJPAC is a very nice concert hall. Comfortable seats with good sight lines. Acoustics also very good. Clean restrooms. Pleasant atrium for a beverage or coffee before or at Intermission. More events to follow.
