New Jersey Devils History
The New Jersey Devils were born in 1982, the third incarnation of a franchise that began as the Kansas City Scouts (1974-76) before spending six years in Denver as the Colorado Rockies. The arrival of president/general manager Lou Lamoriello in 1987 started the franchise's rise to the NHL elite. The Devils made the playoffs in 21 of the next 24 seasons, including five trips to the Stanley Cup Final.
The Devils made it as far as the conference finals in the 1987-1988 and 1993-1994 seasons, preparing them for their historic run the following year in which they won their first Stanley Cup Championship, sweeping the Detroit Red Wings.
The Devils returned to the Stanley Cup Final in 2000, dispatching the Dallas Stars in six games on an iconic double-overtime Cup-clinching goal by Jason Arnott. The next season, as the best offensive team in the NHL, they returned to the Final.
The Devils' stretch of dominance was far from over, though. They won their third Stanley Cup Championship in 2003, spoiling the Anaheim Ducks’ first-ever playoff run with a Game 7 shutout orchestrated by Martin Brodeur. To date, the club has won three Stanley Cup Championships and five Eastern Conference Championships.
In 2022, the Devils returned to the second round of the playoffs—their first time since 2011. Led by young stars Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier, the Devils defeated their long-time rivals the New York Rangers in the first round, before losing their next series to the Carolina Hurricanes.

It was an exciting high scoring game. The Rock is an awsome home for the Devils.
My family had the best time ever at the NJDevils game on Monday night. They got high fives from the players and loved being able to see Kane so close to the glass. The best part of the night? The Devils won! They were very happy!
I am Devils fan, so of course, top ratings!! Even more so, because I attended this game for free, after donating several items of food in the November food drive, each donor received two tickets. It doesn't always work out, the toys for tot drive didn't have any tickets available when I logged in, but I still felt good, having donated. And, to top it off, this was one of the best home games this year, Devils winning 8 to 5!! LGD!!
Had a blast for my first time to a hockey game with my dad!! Such a cool atmosphere. Just wish the people in front didn’t stand so much and block our view. Otherwise, it was a fantastic memory I’ll alwaus share with my dad!
Every time I get to go to a game I'm never disappointed. Whether my team wins or loses I truly enjoy being at a game.
You cannot beat the 80's night at the rock. Constant entertainment for all through out the game! Folks singing along with the 80s hits. It was loud as the announcers voice.....thought I was at a soccer match in Europe! Have to go to 90's night! See you all there!
Had a very enjoyable experience. No problems to report.
Awesome game! Great way to spend New Year’s Eve! We love the Devils!
Well I ended up with a puck to the face. Turned into a stick for Kyle Palmieri and I was on Tv twice
Great atmosphere, fun fans, great arena! It’s very family oriented.
I went to the NJ Devils game on Friday 12/21/18 and it was an awesome game my section to the left was full of energy and they beat the senators 5-2.
Team played like middle school hockey team VS NHL hockey team. It was an embarrassing game. Still LOVE my DEVIL'S.
Nice building, good seats, overpriced food and a hockey team that did not seem to care very much.
My son loved the game even tho he is a New York Rangers fan! Great experience!
You get a feeling of how fast the gameplay is when you are watching in person. Even non-sports fans will appreciate hockey live.
I absolutely love attending New Jersey Devils games! This was my first home opener and they didn’t disappoint with a dominating performance over the defending Stanley Cup champs! The Prudential Center is beautiful and nothing beats the atmosphere at a live event. The fans never stop, even cheering all the way to their cars! It’s always worth the almost 4 hour drive. Go Devils!
Hockey is awesome here, there isnt a seat with a bad view.
Amazing!!! Such a lively atmosphere. Employees are courteous.
Love the devils and the the games we attend always
Even though it’s still pre-season nothing beats Devil’ Hockey
