NEF at the Bangor Waterfronts (Darling's) was a good show. You can separate the facilities from the fights.
The fights - Awesome. It was great to see some young local (and no so local) talent. If you like slow boring fights that go to decision, this wasn't the place. Rear naked chokes, some KOs/TKOs, and even an arm bar graced the fights of the night. The card even included a female bout. NEF did a great job setting it up and with getting a crowd out. If possible, some mounted screens or TVs would have given some better close ups.
The facilities - Darling's Waterfront is new. The kinks have not been worked out yet. The smell of wet sod did not make the most pleasant atmosphere, but is understandable given the major overhaul that went down. The porta potties were pretty gross, but that reflects on the habits of the fight goers not the porta potties themselves. The drinks and food were adequate - meaning, exactly what you would expect at these types of events. There was a decent selection of beer and the prices weren't unreasonable.
