NEIL YOUNG AND CRAZY HORSE IN CONCERT:
Legendary singer-songwriter Neil Young continues to thrill fans with perennial outings alongside his collaborative band Crazy Horse. Whether they're bringing down the house at Carnegie Hall or sharing the stage with luminaries like Diana Krall, the band always puts on a stellar, wide-ranging show that keeps fans on their toes. Playing marathon sets that include classics like "Old Man" and "Heart of Gold" alongside creative covers of fellow giants like Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan, the band's unparalleled musicianship and Young's familiar voice are sure to bring back plenty of memories.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Since the late '60s, Neil Young and Crazy Horse have released more than 10 albums, exploring such diverse genres as country-folk, pop, and psychedelic rock. The band is best known, however, for Neil Young's iconic folk rock songwriting, popularized by hugely successful songs like "Cinammon Girl." Never content to rest on their laurels, Young and company have remained musically prolific and sonically experimental, earning rave reviews for their 2012 double-LP release Psychedelic Pill.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
“Neil Young and Crazy Horse play like the rock and roll legends that they are. Truly a great show reminiscent of the classics from the early days.”
“They weren't going through the motions, they were making them. Improvising, jamming, messing up, laughing, only in the way Neil and the Horse can. They were so tightly tuned in to one another and sounded great, but the best part was that they seemed happy to be there, happy to perform.”
“Neil is a genius! After all these years, he still rocks and puts on a great show!”

Coming especially from france to see Neil Young have not been disappointed even if the show was a little bit limited in timing.... rock an roll will never die...
3 stars no video on sides of stage xfinity center mansfeild Massachusetts worst cheap seats ever due to no screens and about 30 plus more dollars than usual cheap seats for other shows
Neil Young's performance was solid. Did I get my $120 worth? Sort of. You'd think a place that's been around for 40-ish years (Xfinity Center, formerly Great Woods) would have figured out how to get people into and out of the complex without the endless gridlock. Thousands of cars idling simultaneously waiting to get out. Kinda defeats the purpose of all those recycling bins and organic burgers.
Neil and the boys were full of excitement and sounded great. Amazing that at their age (except Micah of course) all of the energy and interest that they have. Many of the songs they had been playing together for over 50 years!!!! Incredibly
A well-prepared and finely tuned performance that certainly held the attention of the packed house. The vocal and instrumental execution were of high caliber and sustained that way throughout the show. The selection of songs rekindled great memories of playing Neil Young music while cruising the highway. I first saw Neil Young and Crazy Horse in 1978 and remember it well, including the hooded people with the glowing red eyes. A lasting impression indeed. I've now attended five Neil Young concerts over the years and Friday's performance will certainly bring me back for more. Thanks Neil Young and Crazy Horse for a night of riveting rock n' roll.
Grand slam by Neil Young and Crazy Horse! The sound, vocals, instruments, energy, etc. were ALL outstanding! You are in for a treat if you see this concert!
People spent upwards of $100 for the cheap seats for this show to be able to SEE Neil Young. Having the screens turned off really sucked as a person in GA seating. We rely on the screens so we can SEE the artists. It was very disappointing that they were not on. I hope this is NOT how the rest of the concert season is going to be.
Food was lousy. Leaving parking lot horrific. Staff helpful. Grounds lovely. Alcohol and food highly overpriced.
With over 5 decades of music making, there are many faces of Neil Young, but this show, in partnership with Crazy Horse, was a primordial grunge extravaganza. This face of Neil, though, is admittedly an acquired taste, and a bit more niche than his more folky side, which was displayed sparingly. There is no doubt in my mind though? That they were playing what they wanted to play, and it showed. For me, Neil Young with Crazy Horse, in full, filthy grunge effect, was a true bucket list item, and they did not disappoint. It was an epic show,, in all of it’s sloppy, distorted, overdriven glory.
Neal Young was amazing! He sounded like he did when I saw him 40 years ago. The venue was not my favorite with many of the audience drunk, disrespectful and loud during the wonderful band that played before Neal. I would suggest a little less focus on selling alcohol and more focus on supporting the artists. Neal was really great though!! There must be something to do about the parking-took 2+ hours to get out of the lot.
A beautuful night of Classic Neil & Cazy Horse! Neil sounded as good as he ever has. Please come back again!
This was a great show. I wasn't sure what to expect. Neil has been on my bucket list for some time as I had never seen him perform live. Chris Richards' review in the Washington Post is well worth reading. While on the short side by today's standards (1:50 or so), he and Crazy Horse covered a lot of ground. As my 34-year old son said of his show at Jazz Fest, it was a master clinic in guitar tone. Beyond that, the songs were great, especially Cinnamon Girl and the solo acoustic set of 4 or 5 songs in the middle including Heart of Gold, I Am a Child, Comes a Time, Helpless. While he's maybe lost a little on the vocal side, it was vintage Neil Young. Well worth it!
I love that setting at San Diego State - the Amphitheater (sp). His voice sounded the same and he actually took the time (apart from the band) to sing several of his older and beloved hits.
This show was a fabulous event. I have seen Neil a number of times, but this was truly special. The decision to not have screens - loved it!!!! He played songs I had never heard him play before live and the energy the band showed was fantastic! We had a wonderful time and I am happy I attended!!!!!
Neil played a great concert. But the giant roof over the seating area was not awesome, and no speakers on the roof pumping out the music from the stage. I disliked the video screens around the roof too. I wouldn't go to that xfinity center ever again.
Great show, but Neils no video decision was terrible, very unfair to thousands in the upper rows,we couldn't see any performers faces.
everything seems to go smoothly From the parking lot parking to getting into the venue and I’ll worked out well. It was good Customer Service no matter where I went in the facility. In the show was awesome.
Crazy Horse was an experience in musical artistry. The extraordinary talent on stage was allowed to shine through due to the simple presentation and feeling of gratitude by the performers. The organization of the venue was definitely less than perfect. During the show, some of the same people in our row were out of their seats and walking in front of us to get out about every ten minutes. This was not respectful to us or to Crazy Horse. There were also non-ticket holders standing in the row ahead of us until we asked them to sit down. (How did they get in?) The traffic at the end of the evening was unbearable with people just standing there holding their flashlights as if they had given up.
Awesome sound and guitar. Neil Young is so talented. So many great riffs and songs.
