Rating: 4 out of 5 Great hockey, great venue, staffing???
by Snikardo on 3/23/16Whittemore Center Arena - DurhamGreat competition, very comfortable arena, bands helped charge the atmosphere, but the fact that UNH students were still on break must have led to the sparcity of concession staffing, which, in turn, led to very long wait times for food. Another odd rule - fans were not allowed re-entry, even with a valid ticket, between periods, or between games on Friday. Another issue that bothered a number of us was the lack of printed programs; do not know why the NCAA would consciously overlook this.
Rating: 5 out of 5 2016 Womens's Frozen Four
by GWHFan on 3/23/16Whittemore Center Arena - DurhamU of H are great hosts. Four extremely skilled teams competed for the championship. I saw three thrilling games. The games were intense and nail biters. The players are talented and highly skilled athletes. A family of four can attend the games without breaking the budget. It is unfortunate the NCAA does not provide rosters or programs for the games. Also the championship hats had the Men's Frozen Four logo. If you have an opportunity. attend a women's hockey game. I attended most of the Women's Frozen Fours - they have never disappointed this hockey fan. U of H, please host again and I will be there.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Women's Frozen Four
by morgan15 on 3/23/16Whittemore Center Arena - DurhamGreat game. Both teams were real talented and there was alot of action. It was a shame that it was not sold out because the atmosphere would have been that much better. The Minn. goalie stood on her head and the team played great in front of her.My daughter and her friends are only eight years old but had a great time.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Women's hockey is fantastic
by Wisinxfan on 3/23/12AMSOIL Arena - DuluthThis was a great tournament with east coast teams up against midwest teams. The skill and intensity with which these teams play is incredible. Women's collegiate hockey is affordable and exciting, and this is a great event for the whole family.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Fast pace
by Lightningcoach on 3/19/12AMSOIL Arena - DuluthThe talent on the ice and the speed of play was incredible. The womens game has improved 5 fold over the last 10 years. I went with my 11 year old daughter and she was in heaven. She went to a camp where some of the Minnesota girls coached and knew some of them by sight. She stood by the entrance where they came out and high fived them as they went on the ice. The only thing that kept me from giving a five star was the ammenities. I did not see any souvenir programs. There was a limited amount of memorabilia to purchase for the event. I think this stems from the attendance. I am not sure how many fans showed up, but I know it was not half capacity. Kind of a sad thing when you consider it is the final four of a division 1 sport. I am not sure if its the ticket prices (although you get 3 games for the price) or if its the smaller city location. Girls participation has increased over the last 10 years. There needs to be an increase in female fan support as well. I hope someone is working on this!
Rating: 5 out of 5 Womans Hockey in Duluth
by Anonymous on 3/19/12AMSOIL Arena - DuluthGreat Womans Hockey. Some of the fans need to understand the rules better. I am an official and the complaining they were doing was not warranted. The officials did an outstanding job. Hockey is a rough sport, and sometimes players get hurt.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Everyone who wasn't there missed out!
by SuperiorGopherFan on 3/19/12AMSOIL Arena - DuluthAMSOIL Arena is a great place to watch a sporting event! Fans who look down their noses at women's hockey are definitely missing out. The games were good quality hockey and this was a great event. We will definitely be back to partake if the Frozen Four ever comes back to Duluth!
