About

The NCAA Women's Basketball Championship, also called March Madness, is an annual tournament that crowns the National Champion for Division I women’s basketball. Launched in 1982, the championship follows a single-elimination format, with 68 teams divided among four brackets and ranked between first and sixteenth. After the seeding announcements on Selection Sunday, the tournament begins with the First Four games, followed by the First and Second Rounds, Sweet 16, Elite Eight, Final Four and the National Championship game. For the 2025 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship, the First Four games tip off on March 19 and 20. The Sweet 16 round will be hosted between Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama and Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena in Spokane, Washington from March 28 to 31, while the Elite Eight, Final Four and National Championship game will be played at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. Building on the hype and record-breaking viewership of the 2024 championship game between the reigning champion South Carolina Gamecocks and Iowa Hawkeyes, the 2025 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship will take place on April 6.

  • NCAA Women's Regional Basketball Tournament

    by Baylor83 on 3/29/11American Airlines Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The NCAA Women's Reginal Basketball Tournament at the American Airlines Center was great. The seats were excellent. I could not have wished for a better venue. Baylor was awesome and I hope they are awesome against A&M again tonight so that they can go on the the Final Four in Indianapolis next week.

Picking up tickets at the Will Call booth was a simple and easy process as well as entering the venue. All staff members were very friendly.

The game was good as always, but... It is very frustrating to only have seats available to purchas in the 2nd section on the side with benches. We are all squished in like sardines. When at the game there are alot of empty seats avaiable in the first section with seat backs. These seats should be made availabe to public if no one is going to use them.

I am really glad I attended this game to say goodbye to Maya and Loren. TV is convenient, but sometimes you just gotta be there.

UCONN girls won the games and are going to the Sweet Sixteen, all the girls and coaches are terrific.

  • Gotta love Women's BB

I enjoy the action in women's basketball, and there was a lot of it on both days. The plays were good, the fans involved and the outcome not assured, as much as people thought it was.

Fun event. Only complaint the ushers wouldn't let us move down to the large amount of empty seats for the second game

  • UCONN Women Rule!!

    by GoHuskies66 on 3/24/11University of Connecticut - StorrsRating: 5 out of 5

There is nothing like attending a college basketball game! The excitement, the atmosphere, the intensity are unmatched. It is great for my 10 & 12 year old daughters to be able to see female athletes of this caliber compete live. If you haven't been to a UCONN Women's basketball game you should make it a point to attend next season!

  • Uconn Womens Basketball

    by Mrz556mm on 3/24/11University of Connecticut - StorrsRating: 4 out of 5

Even from the cheap seats up top, we could see and hear the whole game going on below! The UCONN Womens Team is awesome and we wish them all the very best!

What we have in CT is a special team, more peoplr should come out and support them. I think the Perdue band out cheered the entire UCONN fan base. We have to get more students to the game! Most of the crowd is 50 and older. The women are terrific and they deserve support rom the people of CT.

Good game, as usual. Surprised it was not sold out for the senior's last home game ever. Go UCONN.

  • Star Studded Cast

    by gohuskies1947 on 3/23/11University of Connecticut - StorrsRating: 4 out of 5

It's always a special treat to be able to witness the spectacular UConn women play. Even when the game isn't close, you are in for an amazing ride. From the young freshmen Stephanie Dolson and Bria Hartley to the mega star Maya Moore, this is a well oiled and cohesive machine . Geno Auriemma continues to deliver year after year. It would seem that the odds were stacked against him with such a young and inexperienced team, but he always finds a way! Granted , he has Maya. My only wish is that more fans would show up and show their support. Perhaps they have become complacent and spoiled.

  • U of L vs Vanderbilt Basketball Sunday March 20

The seats selected from ticketmaster were awesome!!! We felt like we were right on the floor watching the game! Good job!

  • Seats were terrible

    by speg75 on 3/22/11University of Connecticut - StorrsRating: 3 out of 5

Love watching the Huskies play, and have seen them several times in the past - BUT - I have always purchased tickets through their box office. I guess because this was an NCAA tournament event, (and because I decided at the last second to get tickets), I had to go through TicketMaster - A lot of money for really bad seats, crammed up in the nose-bleed seats with a sea of humanity. The game was great, no doubt - exciting to see Maya Moore wind down her career - but according to TicketMaster, the seats were 'best available'. While I was sitting, jammed on those bench seats, I looked around to see many empty seats. Not sure why that was the case.

Gampel is a wonderful facility at uconn for hosting these events. Every seat in the house has good viewing and the lighting is top shelf. The crowd was electric for their huskiees and it was a wonderful experience for my daughter. The uconn players were wonderful about talking to the kids and signing autographs.
