Being from mainland Nova Scotia, I obviously knew who Natalie MacMaster was, but my wife has been the long standing fan- but after that magical performance I’m definitely a devout fan now and am looking forward to the children making their way into the music and entertainment world- the entire family seem to possess magical talents and gifts to share with the world!! I’m so happy that Natalie has decided that sharing the gifts and traditions and heritage she has been blessed with is a purpose to live on sharing… we will be in front row again and again and again!!
We were thoroughly entertained! Amazing artists in everything they did! We were so impressed by the talent that the kids had, so young and so professional! Good job Mom andDad! We hope they all go on to entertain for years to come, we wouldn’t change a thing! Thank you!
What a fabulous show. A must see! The Celtic Family Christmas definitely gets the feet stomping and hands clapping. Super performance from all involved.
What a wonderful way for people of all ages to celebrate Christmas! The entire evening felt like you were spending the holidays with your own family. Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy are world class musicians on their own, but their children and a cousin were all musical and dancing phenoms! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate a family Christmas than spending a Celtic Family Christmas with the MacMaster-Leahy family!!
The concert was wonderful. It was a delight to see the family embrace music and dancing. I would have enjoyed less fast paced selections and more ballads done with passion as only they could do. However, the energy was high and they all looked like they were having fun. Loved the tap dancing with the music. Highlighting the members of the band was done well.
Usually not my kind of music/show, but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised with the show. Natalie and Donnell really kept the show moving, they were both funny and engaging. Personally I was not looking forward to the children, thought the kids would be cute, but would be hokey and just a time filler, but I was very wrong, all 3 children were wonderful musicians and dancers, I was quite happy they performed. The only negative I would say, the whole show seemed a bit haphazard and scattered, but all in all a good time. I would definitely see them again.
We have seen Natalie and her family twice before and all 3 times were a super high energy, musical extravaganza. Even if you are not familiar with celtic music, the sheer energy that she and her family puts out will sweep you up. We cannot wait to see her and her family perform again.
Once again the Mac Master-Leahy family and I mean family, gave a great performance! Natalie and Donnell and the kids played a flawless catalog of songs. They were especially appropriate with St Pats day coming up!
Natalie and her husband are amazing musicians the energy and drive of the entire evening was amazing. Such a variety of styles was represented I especially enjoyed the slow piece which was more of a ballad And full of passion and emotion. It was fun to see three of her children on stage Who also performed on violin/fiddle and the two girls sang. Their parents were hanging on every word and action. Great show I would see it again
These entertainers are exactly that! They put on an amazing show and make you feel like you are at a down home kitchen party. You feel like you have been invited into their home. The talent housed in one family is beyond belief. As a Cape Bretoner, my husband is the one who loves the fiddle and I honestly went to the show as a Christmas present to him. I was blown away and enjoyed the show more than I can say. Treat yourself to one of the very the best musical shows I have ever had the privilege of attending.
Full of energy, and fantastic fiddling. Though it is hyped as Celtic music I would argue the north American influences in their music made it unrecognizable as that. Natalie McMaster was amazing as she appeared to be at least 8 mos pregnant and was still dancing across the stage and fiddling like a whirling dervish. Donnell Leahy has a great sense of humor which added to the program along with their 6 talented children. However I would say that I would reduce the children's role in the performance a bit.
I have watched Natalie MacMaster since her solo performances as a young lady out of college. The addition of Donnell Leahy, her husband, and their children has added so much to her already stellar performances. Super talented family and entertainers. On stage they interact with their fellow musicians and all appear to be having a wonderful time. Their passion for their music and performing for their audience is so authentic!
The enjoyment of this performance was way beyond my expectations. So full of energy and talent. The whole family! Simply amazing!!!
The music was great, but the best was see there children with them
Natalie and Donnell are entertaining in so many ways. Fiddling, dancing, conversation, sharing their amazing children, sharing their a,axing band. On and on. Can't wait to see them again.
We see Natalie whenever she is within a couple of hundred miles! Her and Donnell together with the children is just awesome!! Went to Cape Breton this past summer to see where she came from and it was as wonderful as she says it is.
This was an unforgetable program. Our whole group thought it was the best show we had ever seen. I'm hoping they come back and I'll be the first in line. They have so much energy and make you feel happy. The children were adorable and were a great addition to the program. So much talent in that family!
Wonderful energy, great band and excellent audio. Met my high expectations for a Canadian Celtic experience.
One of the best times I've ever head watching a live musical performance! Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy and their band gave a bravura performance - traditional Scotch Irish/Cape Breton music with a modern, rock sound and sensibility. Energizing, melodic and sometimes moving the music was the result of a troupe of incredibly talented and versatile musicians. And the addition of Natalie and Donnell's children to the act was a welcome surprise. Also loved the Irish dancing by several members of the band and the kids - gifted performers all!
