Music City Blues Festival
by Ridercoach on 2/28/12Nashville Municipal Auditorium - NashvilleI enjoyed the show, all but for Bobby Bland. He really needs to retire or just do guest appearances and sign autographs. He looked sick and as though he didn't feel well, and his handlers looked like they cut the performance short. I hope when they bring a headliner in that the individual is still capable of performing. Bobby Rush did a great show last year. Sheba Potts-Wright and Theodis Ealey are the most under-appreciated performers out there. They put on a great show, high energy, and brought the crowd up. I had never heard of Theodis Ealey until the performance, but I'm a new believer. Mel Waiters did a good show, but he obviously did not feel well and was fighting a cold. Shirley Brown is a hoot! Sir Charles, well, he's Sir Charles. I have no idea the name of the MC, but the guy is really good and makes the show work. This was the second year for my wife and me to attend the show. We're 60 years old and the whitest white people you will ever meet, but we felt comfortable and welcome at the show.
