I go back with her into the 1970s. I have over 25 CDs and have seen/heard her in concert 4 times before this one. She was the worldwide pop diva of the 1970s and 1980s. She outsold all other female vocalists. And she still draws us in with her voice, interpretation, passion, and rhythm. If you're a Nana fan, go see her on her Forever Young Tour. If you don't know Nana, go anyway to experience what truly great pop music was 30 and 40 years ago.
For most of her life, Nana could sing anything better than anybody. Those days are gone, and she's currently getting some bad advice about what songs to sing. Listening to her try to belt out Forever Young was excruciating. On the other hand, Cu Cu Ru Cu Cu was nice. I would ditch the attempts at a big sound and stick to folkier music for the rest of the tour. A higher percentage of Greek tunes would also be welcome.
Thank you Nana for being amazing! For being such a star!
Amazing singer with extensive repetoire In so many languages, and so many genres. Pp
Although the show was not as elaborate and extravagant as it used to be, the quality of Nana's singing remains wonderful. Her mixture of old and new, many languages and her personal touch of narration made the show thoroughly enjoyable. She held the entrie show herself without "fillers" by other groups, friends, etc. unlike another well-known entertainer I had seen recently (for 4 times the $$$$) and for nearly two hours sang without a teleprompter (unlike the other entertainer) and never forgot one word!! She did introduce her daughter who sings much like she does and was only on stage for about 4 numbers -- two with Nana and two alone. A thoroughly beautiful evening! Bravo Nana!!
Poignant & refreshing content from this going on "80 year's young" consummate artist who has reinvented herself--singing both crowd faves and new songs (covers of Mark Knopfler and Amy Winehouse) from the perspective of a life lived and still looking forward; backed up by a world class band.
Outstanding. A most entertaining concert was unforgettable
