The dancing , costumes, choreography were amazing. The musical episodes were very good but difficult for my 5 year old to sit though. The speeches were unnecessary, repetitive, boring, often unintelligible and a waste of time. They turned a fabulous production into a high school show. If there was something important for the audience to know, then print it in the playbill. A "welcome to the show" is one thing but what we experienced was horrible for us and our son. And our five year old is very involved in dance and music.

Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 2/13/18New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark Rating: 5 out of 5 Great performance for adults and children
by ankamorfin on 2/1/17New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkMe and my 5-year old daughter absolutely loved this show. It's appropriate for adults interested in Chinese culture and tranditional and modern dance. Every dance was pre-narrated froma historical or cultural perspective. It's also great for children 5 and up who like dance because it's very colorful. My daughter didn't say a word for the whole show she was mesmerized! And the price is very affordable for families, we paid a total of only 50 dollars for adult and child for some of the best seats.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Great show
by davidny3 on 6/6/16New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkAll contemporary dance. Company manager introduced the pieces, each quite different from the others. The dancers are outstanding. Company choreographer Nai-Ni Chen had a lovely solo at the end. So much content and interesting choreography, wish i could see the whole program again.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Needed an intro and MC badly!!
by TheatergoerNY on 2/10/16New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkThe performance overall was good but there were 2 dances that were extremely long and had nothing to do with oriental culture--that was disappointing. Another thing was that the performers performed without any intro--a little explanation / introduction for the artists and the instruments being played would've been nice
