The performance was very good. I liked the singers renditions of Nat King Cole's songs. The only draw back was that the sound quality was better after the intermission. Not sure if this was a technical problem or not.

    Glorious Hollywood Musicals was great!

by Tonysmissus on 6/24/13National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Jack Everly as Conductor and MC was entertaining and informative. The individual performances were excellent. High calibre of talent and professionlism. Costumes reflected the era very nicely. The Christmas song was a bit weird for June, though.

    Excellent Show

by No1KillerFanOgdensburg on 6/11/12National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

This was an excellent review of some very popular musicals. I could have done without the singing in French, but the talent - some of the originals in their roles, was spectacular.

    The Rythum Kept Me Moving

by 10kms on 12/11/11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

The crowd was very involved in the music and several people were swaying and moving in their seats but they restricted themselves because they wanted to follow the proper protocol. Don't make an example of yourself! A typical Ottawa attitude. We went there to enjoy the show and I did. There was a lot of interaction between the performers and the audience. At the request of my grandson, who is 15, I purchased the tickets and he really enjoyed it as well. He loves that type of music. When I purchased the tickets on the internet I had to pay an adult fee for him. He is a student and there was nothing on the form to indicate a price for a student.

    Broadway's Leading Men was fabulous!

by Yaggie on 4/10/11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

They were all gifted and talented singers~especially Ted Keegan. When he sang from the Phantom, it brought tears to our eyes! Truly a memorable performance! It was my daughter's 30th birthday and her first time attending an NAC show in Ottawa. My husband and I attend many POPS shows because of the quality! We enjoy Jack Everly's conducting also, as he is always a show stopper.

Canadian Brass and the NAC were simply spectacular

by Feroceman on 1/19/11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Although I had seen Canadian Brass many times over the years in their various re-incarnations, this performance was indeed a treat. The young talent anchored by the seasoned mentor Chuck Daellenbach gave a truly sensational and awe-inspiring performance. I can only dream of future excellent renditions when one sees the abundance of young virtuosity with many years left to improve and impress even more! Bravo!

NACO and Canadian Brass - great of course!

by brassfan on 1/15/11National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

This was a very enjoyable concert - although the CB have four new members now they retain the same cheeky spirit and excellent musicianship that they've had for decades. It's wonderful to see people who have such amazing talent have such fun with their music. The NACO, conducted by a trombonist of course was the perfect accompaniment for these soloists and it was super to see the brass players come and be part of a brass ensemble for one section. Great show.
