MUTEMATH IN CONCERT:
Alternative rock four-piece MuteMath is making their mark on the indie scene with their dynamic synths and driving guitar sound. Whether they're tearing through fan favorites like "Typical" or diving into the audience for a crowd surf, MuteMath always delivers the goods at their electrifying live shows. The band's energy is infectious, and their inimitable showmanship never fails to get fans pumped up and on their thrilling tours.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
New Orleans act MuteMath formed in 2002 by friends Paul Meany (vocals), Darren King (drums), Todd Gummerman (guitars), and Roy Mitchell-Cardenas (bass). The band initially sent recordings back and forth via email while they were split between Louisiana and Missouri, but they all came together to record their 2004 EP Reset. The release was a hit, spawning whirlwind tours with Circa Survive and Mae that gained the band a considerable cult following. They followed up with their self-titled debut LP in 2006, which peaked at No. 17 on the Top Heatseekers chart, was praised by major media outlets, and earned a number of major festival appearances for the budding group. Since then the four-piece has recorded two more acclaimed albums, been nominated for a Grammy Award, and played for hundreds of thousands of fans around the world. With their expansive collection of popular tunes and sensational stage presence, MuteMath is a must-see live act that never disappoints their eager fans.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"I've seen this band 5 times in 4 different cities and they never, NEVER, disappoint. Not only is their music incredible as is, but their live presence and over-the-top antics are something you just need to see together."
"These guys put on such a great live show!!!!! I have a live DVD of theirs, but seeing them in person is so much better. Everyone in the band came into the audience several times through the show. The lead singer stage dove twice! And they played all of the songs from the new album aside from a ton of songs from older albums."
"This was by far the best concert experience I've ever had! If you are a true MUTEMATH fan then you will love this tour. They make a real effort to play songs from all three of their albums and then every song off of Odd Soul. Not to mention Paul Meany is great singing live and loves to add in a few stunts around the stage."
Hands down the best concert I have ever attended. It left me absolutely speechless.
I have been to a lot of concerts (Metallica, Creed, Linkin Park, all the big names...) and I have never seen a show like that! That was my favorate concert by a landslide! I was lucky enough to catch the last few songs with them when they opened for Matchbox 20 a couple years ago. And im very lucky to have met them in person too! MUTEMATH ROCKS! Thank you guys for a great show!
I went in with high expectations and Mutemath still blew me away! They performed a mix of old and new songs coupled with a sweet light show to match. It was the first concert this year that didn't leave me wondering why I spent my money to go see it. Any can play a song, but Mutemath performed their music. Great band!
Best concert I have ever been to. Mutemath's music is awesome but the live performance tops that. Anyw\one who truly loves music would enjoy them. And the opening band Tall as Lions was sooo good. I wish I could go to this same concert everyday!!!!!
There arent to many rock shows that leave you in a place of awe. As Tall as Lions brought it, and Mutemath brought it that much more. If this show comes within a few hundred miles of you, do yourself a favor and go. Best rock show I've ever seen.
Ok I've seen some pretty good shows in my day(Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Nirvana....) but Mute Math takes it to a totally new level. I'm not actually saying that they are better than any of the bands I've mentioned, but performing live they are the best by far. Freakin Awesome!!!!
SImply put, there was not a dull moment. Even on some of their more contemplative songs, they found some way to keep the energy alive. Amazing show.
MuteMath is awesome!!! a must see!! go see them!!!
mutemath has stepped up their performance since the last time i saw them live. i really enjoyed the show.
Mute Math put on an amazing, well received show last night at Cleveland's House of Blues. They played several songs from their new CD called Armistice. And ended the raucous set with "Typical" their hit from the first CD. The encore included "Reset" and band and audience were very happy from beginning to end. The House was about 3/4 full.
As usual MuteMath put on an awesome show. The energy that they have during the performance is unbelievable. I brought a friend who doesn't really know the band, and she was blown away. I look forward to many more of their concerts in Cleveland!
This is the third time i have seen MuteMath and they get better every time. The vocals are as good as CD quality, the drummer is fiercely entertaining, the bassist used a stand up bass at certain points... overall the sound quality was awesome and the band members put on a great show. Very unique performance & band!!
They never have a bad show!. They r the best show men of all time.
Simply amazing!!!!!!!! I've seen 100's of concerts but nothing like this! Mutemath rules!!!!
Mutemath is one of the best band to see live. The new album Armistice is really well done and sounds fantastic. I loved how Rebirth was incorporated into the show. The show was energizing and refreshing. I cannot wait to see them in October at Voodoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As is the norm for Mute Math, the show was full of energy and loads of fun. Even someone who has never heard of the band would enjoy this show. They used several instruments.. even a chello! Truely talented and creative musicians.
amazingly entertaining...these guys love music nd show it
Asside from a few technical problems this show had to be one of the most memorable I've ever witnessed.
Awesome show in New Orleans!!! What an incredible follow up to a flawless first album!!! Thanks again for the signed poster! Much Love
There was a lot of feedback during the show and the mix for most of the show wasn't what it should have been. Most of the time you couldn't hear what they were singing. I will say the band put on a good performance but the audio problems were overly distracting to me. I also noticed many of the lights weren't working so it made for an uneven light show as well.
