I've been a Musical Blades fan for a few years and have seen countless Renaissance Festival performances....but nothing compares to seeing them live at VooDoo! They were able to do a plugged-in set with full drum kit, electric guitars and bass, and microphones. It was completely BADASS! They brought the rock to pirate music and it was a night I will never forget!
Between the comedy of it all is a band with great musical talent. The band played and sang well. Super fun and a must see.
Opening group wasn't really my preferred music, but the Blades were amazing. First time seeing them in a venue setting, but will definitely make the trip again if given the opportunity.
What and unforgettable night Musical Blades is one of the most down to earth and friendly bands ever, and boy do they love their fans. The shows are packed with humor and jokes and well as some dynamic and beautiful music.
Although the Musical Blades definantly didn't have enough time for there complete show was still able to hear many new and old favorites. Waiting for the next blades concert. Capt, saucy, red, zulu, sven, pappy,& pizza guy did wonderful job providing entertainment. Lot of fun moments with the pirates that always play all out. Pirate On
Great music, including Chance the Arm, who was new to me. The drinks were great and priced well, the atmosphere was amazing, and the entire event made for a perfect weekend. I am so glad that I was able to go. This was the best concert the Blades have had to date (that I have been to, any ways). I very much enjoy the Voodoo Lounge as a venue, as well. Great people working there, always courteous and smiling, they all seemed really excited to be invaded by pirates.
I have seen Musical Blades perform many times, and I am never disappointed. This time around they were even better! The energy was just amazing!! New songs sung by" new" people....a chance to mingle with the guys before and after the show....everything a fan could wish for!!! Can't wait for the next show!!!
You can never beat a concert by the Musical Blades. Their opening band Chance the Arm was good also. The Scallywags are always entertaining. It was well worth the money and the trip to Kansas City and would do it all again in a heartbeat.
The Musical Blades concert totally was awesome. It was the party of the year and these guys put together a great set list. They mixed together some of their most popular hits with some of the new songs from the Treasures of Old CD. The CD is a superb collection and the guys did great putting it all together.
Great location. Not too big, not too small. The band shined and exploded their talents all evening. Fantastic music and incredible energy. All the performers are wonderful, fun, kind and amazing people. Can't wait for next time!!
If you have never had a chance to see the Blades preform you don't know what your missing.... Was well worth the 5 hour drive from Oklahoma... High energy from start to finish played for almost 3 hours non stop.... Crowd was on there feet dancing and singing along from start to finish...Vocals and harmonies are great... Who knew Sven could sing WoW............ Overall from start to finish a great show
I had an awesome time... the Musical Blades were incredible, could have listened to them all night. I enjoyed Chance the arm as an opening act..but couldn't wait to bring on the Blades!!! Happy talk like a pirate day! Great way to spend it!
Good music and great fun. If you are into Pirates and fun Renaissance festival music, this is a wonderful band of Rouges and Scallywags to see.
